After 30 years of knowing you two, many with Lindsay as our vet, you would think that I would be used to the fantastic things you and Lindsay do with animals, mostly kittahs. But, you're always surprising with me with the great commitment you have to help save animals. They are blessed with your care and I'm blessed with your friendship. You two will have to stop by and see our eight rascals and rascalettes. Keep up the great work.

You're right, the trinkets & things discovered were real interesting (especially the WW2 era unit crest, with "Ever Foremost" on the lightning bolt, for the 778th Tank Battalion) but those kittens were absolutely adorable! Were I anywhere near there I would want to adopt one of the gray kittens.

Chigg, I recognize the electrical cover plate. Some very old homes had push button light switches that were round. It's been years since I have seen one. Very cool finds!!

I had an old apartment uilt in the 1920 with all push button light switches. The switch covers were all made of brass as well.

When I was a wee lad and lived in Brooklyn in a second floor flat those were the types of light switches we had! Along with glass crystal doorknobs. I kind of like them more than the modern switch that’s popular today. Great video Chigg.

Chigg, the shield piece pictured at 20:39 is the unit crest for the 778th Tank Battalion and is WW2 era. It says "Ever Foremost" on the lightning bolt. They apparently saw heavy action in Europe with the second longest continuous time in battle of all the units in the ETO at 176 days on nonstop fighting.

The last kitten we fostered came to us straight from surgery to remove one of her hind legs after it was mangled in a car engine. We fostered her for a few weeks, took her back to the rescue and she ended up being adopted by someone from far away. Happy tails, Tangerine! The religious plaque you found is called Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The two angels are holding the instruments of Christ's Passion. I was raised in the Greek Orthodox Church, and I know that image VERY well. We knew it as Theotokos of the Passion - "Θεοτόκου των Παθών".

I never knew that you and your wife helped animals like you do, that is so nice. I heard you mention West Virginia which is where I am from. I always wonder about what is in the river at Horseshoe Bend in Alabama. When the battle was going on there were so many Indians and Soldiers that died. If they fell in the river the weapons they had on them sunk to the bottom. The River where the battle happened has steep and slick sides and is said to be real silty. The last time I was there was about 15 years ago and I was told the visibility is too bad to dive. Have you ever been there ? Bodies of the Indians that sunk to the bottom were left there. I learned this from Al. History by Rev. Cherry and Alexander Nunn.

Oh my gosh, Beau! That quilt hanging on the staircase is amazing!! 😍 (The kitties are adorable…😏) The “musical instrument” parts are reeds from a pump organ, some of the ones I’ve found have the musical note imprinted on them. The brooches, the Madonna icon, and the marbles are very cool! The thing you thought might be a button is interesting, maybe worth looking at with a magnifying glass. I know you find stuff like this all the time and you’d rather find Civil War bullets or mortars, but I love that kind of junk! It’s history!

How’s it going Beau? Wow !!crazy how much you found in one day!! I’m surrounded by swimming holes in the Catskills of upstate NY. No civil war areas here unfortunately. Usually you’ll find thee usual change and sometimes jewelry but rarely anything old. A lot of the older swimming holes are privately owned! So many city people buying up property and don’t allow anyone in their private stream section!! So many times I see you go up different streams and creeks and find civil war camps and different civil war areas. Just isn’t anything around me like that. I’d love to know how I could better research my area to find some historical locations that were forgotten through time and no one cares about the land or it’s not privately owned! I do talk to people and sometimes get permission. Many times regardless of how nice you are or how respectful you are of peoples property they don’t care, they just don’t want people there. I guess they’d rather any historical items be left in the ground never to be seen again by anyone. I always love seeing all the things you find. Your one of the original channels I subscribed to and still enjoy watching!! Thanks so much for all the time you spend to make this channel possible!! Also just love the song!! I know it well now!! It somehow makes me think about my area, the Catskills. Thanks again Beau!! Take care, stay safe and healthy!!

The copper/brass plate is a push button light switch plate. We have one in our 1930 house. Up for on and down for off. The “plastic” buttons have a white (mother of Pearl look) tab on the upper button to let you know that is “on”. The bottom is black for “off”. Great finds Chigg! And thanks for the fostering! We are animal people too. They are rascals but love unconditionally. Gods gift to a flawed world.
