Hiking And Searching For Gold In Arizona

In this video, I journey to central Arizona in the search for gold and to hike a canyon that may contain a treasure. It was a long and bumpy drive in and I had to walk a fair amount of the way to reach the river, but I had fun, and that is what it is all about.
About Aquachigger:
I enjoy metal detecting for historical items like gold coins, relics, silver coins, and other buried treasures. I also metal detect for gold and silver nuggets and even meteorites. I like to make videos that promote my choice of lifestyle that includes outdoor adventure, metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed by most people who are not familiar with outdoor adventures and nature. I keep my KZbin "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.
BTW, you can also catch me here, / chiggsarmy ,but I may get a little edgier there. FB isn't a place for kids anyway...lol.

Thank you SO much for pointing out that federal lands are Our lands and private lands have “keep out” signs everywhere.
@frankmorris4790
@frankmorris4790 3 жыл бұрын
Well thats kinda the way it is. Kinda. Privatizing public land would insure that it would be better cared for. The Federal lands are a mess due to neglect. There is a reason the most of the endangered specie in the west are on private lands. Now when our friend chigger points out in the distance and says that, "most of that is public land". Well maybe it isn't. In much of the west the land is cut into sections (640 acres or 1 sq. mile) it is laid out in a rough sort of checkerboard pattern. Federal/deeded IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE. We get people coming through telling us that they ARE NOT trespassing, they on national Forest and that IT BELONGS TO EVERYBODY! Some even kinda get kinda snooty about it too... Or, they'll tell us that we HAVE TO allow them to cross our deeded land to get on the forest. No. Also, the only ownership position a rancher has on public leased land is on the grass. he owns the grass. he doesn't even own the water, although he likely had to pay to have it developed out of his own pocket. he brought the water for his cattle, but the whole area eco system is benefited by it being there. You're welcome "absentee Landlords". Other than that it's open to anyone. The catch being, you better know where you are!

@Frank Morris yeah you can tell the "cared for land" by all the junked cars.
@frankmorris4790
@frankmorris4790 Жыл бұрын
@@redtobertshateshandles You mean on the Rez? In the rural west there are reasons for things . Stuff that gets to the end of the road stays there. At that point it becomes a material mine. Need a triangle of aluminium,? Go out and flog it off that old 1940's pedal car.... Every ranch and near every inhabited spot has a pile o stuff. Some do better than others at keeping it all localized and out of sight. But see, you don't know that because you live in HOA land either on or very close to the pavement. Or you would know how those cars got there.

@@tiredleader0621 They would actually approach me and they would walk up to my truck while I was out wondering around looking for gemstones. One time, an Angus decided to take a nap behind my truck and a Herford was standing right at my drivers side door so I had to very carefully climb in the passenger side door and cautiously start the truck and slowly, slowly pull away.

Chig, you should think about buying small solar charging battery bank and carry it in your pocket that way you could charge your GoPro batteries while you walk. loving every bit of these videos Beau. Talk away mate. In Western Australia you can metal detect on mineral leases. You just need to tell the owners your coming on. None of this "it's mine" business. Nobody is armed in our bush unless they are hunters. We aren't scared of each other. We help each other not put them down.I own 12 guns, but mainly heirlooms. Gun ownership is no big deal to brag about.

Remember that Indians camped above rivers and creeks so as not to drown during a flash flood. When you are exploring above a river or creek, look for black rocks that would tell you that they had circled a fire. You should find a lot of flint and quartz flakes in the area and maybe some good points, maybe even a midden or two.
