I initially thought this might be a old cistern (old hand dug stone lined cavern/resevoir for storing rainwater). They are found near 19th century, pre-public water, houses. They are different from wells. Often after the well is dug or public water lines come through they are abandoned and typically filled in. Sometimes they are not filled in. Think cross between or a combination of a shallow hand dug well & a spring house. However, this thing is an actual cave, albeit a shallow one. Pretty cool. Keep up the good work.

When I was a kid a family friend told me a story about when he was 10 he found a cave, went in and discovered a dead kid that was stuck between the top and the bottom, he was missing for 12 years. I've always been afraid of caves after that.

Well chigger this is the first time I have ever felt a claustrophobic panic flutter just by watching a video But yep you did it even my breathing and heart rate lifted Many moons ago I did a little caving went through what was called the cheese press at a cave in the lake District in Cumbria in the🇬🇧 uk. But 28 years on I now have a lung condition So tight spaces make feel like i can't breath Loved the video as always a pleasure to watch

The POV from your helmet camera makes the cave look so much more claustrophobic and tight. It always looks like the passages you're squeezing through are only an inch wider than your body. I'm always amazed when you switch to another camera and I see you casually sitting up and the cave suddenly looks much larger and a little more roomy.

The pile of rocks you are sitting on at about 8:20 clearly fell into the cave through the chimney. Could you sift through that pile to see if there is any garbage/metal/pottery, or any other indication of human activity? My other idea was to flush some kind of non-toxic dye down into the garden hose hole? My last idea was to pump smoke into the cave from the road entrance, and look for smoke emerging from the ground nearby. I just thought I'd share my ideas, in case they might help.

How's it going chigg!? I did a lot of caving in Iowa and Missouri back when I was 18 now not so much. Wish I had the time to and same for metal detecting! My nephew an myself would love to be on one of your adventures one day lol. The oldest thing I found was a penny from 1919 in my yard with my Garrett 300. A lot better than my old lone star toy detector lol! Lov your vids man keep'em comin! 😁😎👍

be careful when you try to go back further, at 11:52 there is a split rock hanging that you can see at and before that mark, you may want to do something about that before you go under past the waterfall/flowstone spot at the back where you can go over or under.

There's underground locating equipment that could possibly work great for you here. You could bring the transmitter underground with a radio and a person could follow you on top and map exactly where you go. I have access to this equipment and would love to volunteer to try it out.
