This will seem a little strange to you but I'm a recently retired woman that has been hooked on watching metal (detectorists) on you tube! I love the excitement on a new find! I enjoy the photography of what is found in the ground and water! I try to subscribe to those with great photography, researched material and great adventures! Of course it does help to watch people like you who truly enjoy what they do! Like you! Thank-you from a woman in New York!

New York is a great state to detect in. Nice old New England state. You should try to find out where you can go and get a detector. My first one a Tesoro Compadre was good one to just try out the hobby and very cheap $160 new even cheaper used. I also am a retired lady so can't go out too much but love it when I do. Best wishes!

There is nothing better in life than loading the boat, exploring the river, and camping for the night. The gentle sounds of the riverside will lull even the most severe insomniac into a restful slumber. You're a lucky man, Chigg! Good luck on your future adventures, and holler at me if you're ever in central VA!

to look at the river bottom without having to use a facemask: cut out the bottom of the 5 gal bucket, and glue a clear acrylic in its place. You end up with a utility bucket that is a sort of a river scope.

Wow! We use to go camping in Kentucky when I was young &stay on a branch of Kentucky River for a week or so! Mostly it was for grown ups to fish etc. Only way to get clean was jump in the water that surrounded the area where we set up camp! This was in the 60's! When you do these Creek searches remind me of a good time! Thanks stay safe keep educating us during each one! "Hold your breath!"

Did this a week ago, camped 3 days on a river at an old 100+ year dump site. Found two Barber dimes and a 1923 Mercury dime, a 1902 Indian head penny, and a dozen wheat cents. Old padlocks too. The coolest find a 1 gallon stoneware jug buried 2/3 in the river bed. So nice to have 3 days off to camp and look for stuff.

8:15 and that Military Style Shovel (like you had said) has been in that creek for a while now, and the Development of 'Metal-Detectors' have improved since that Spade was thrown in that creek, so they left a lot of good things because One, they could not go as deep with their Detectors as you can with yours, and Two they could not identify objects with the accuracy that you have.

Your kayak is pretty amusing LOL..someone just stole my brand new fishing kayak (that was strapped to the top of my truck) which is crazy because I stay up all night sitting next to the window so whoever did it must've watched me awhile.. saddest part is that I lost everything due to the death of my father so I finally bought a kayak to give me something to do with my spare time😞and cheer me up. I never got to use it. life goes on. Great video, seems exciting!!
