Those are beautiful little shrimpies! I have never kept Red Rillis before, but they are on my radar 😊 Thanks for the excellent info and video quality!

Thanks so much Audra! Worth noting out of all the colour shrimp we keep or have kept the only type we have never had to cull a single shrimp from is the red rilis, not sure if we just got lucky with the line we have or they are a stronger line in general but interesting none the less :)

Cool stuff, very nice footage! Quick questions- I've got a new colony started and I've noticed some of my red rilis have a blue color in the clear section of their body. Is there any explanation for this, and does it affect the quality of the shrimp?
@Aquadiction2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words, means a lot 😁Regarding your shrimp, blue-body red rilis, which are sometimes just called blue rili. They're just red rili with blue-colored flesh instead of clear. Their markings have the entire range in quality that you will see in red rili, from a touch of red on the head/face/legs, to the high-quality stereotypical pattern, to only a small band of no red in the midsection. The blue is recessive, so it's possible for shrimp to carry the trait while having a clear body themselves Hope that helps

@@Aquadiction Thanks for the quick info! I will definitely try concentrating on a possibly new blue and red strain as I haven't seen it myself either, and it seems promising!

I would def try work with that variant if it appeared in our fish room! Wish you much luck, please keep us posted!!

@@Aquadiction Thank you! I just heard back from another invert breeder. Turns out they are indeed a newer strain of blue rili called royal rili, with the middle section being the lighter color of the blue velvet strain and the head and tail a deep red, along with a red dot on the sides of each segment of the body. Will absolutely focus on raising the grade of the colony over time if that's the case.

Great stuff and very interesting! Mrs Aquadiction knew more on this than myself and they are definitely worth continuing with! Exciting stuff tbh!! Wishing you the very best 😁

I have a pair of reds, and a pair of orange rili and my orange female is BERRIED AGGHHH ❤🎉 I can see the eyes on the shrimplets I’m ecstatic lol 😂

Its always exciting to get your first shrimplets :) Are the mixed together or in separate aquariums?
@itsAngryKitten Жыл бұрын
@@Aquadiction seperate! I think my reds are just too big for babies now. But my orange, so small she’s perfect! Super impressive to see her swim, graze, hold onto things and still juggle her eggs. I can see eyes 👀 it’s awesome! Just worried as she’s in my community tank so I’m wodding up guppy grass and all kinds of tight plants to hopefully have some safety. Gah!

Can I keep these with vampire crabs ?
@Aquadiction Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the question. It should be fine to keep these Shrimp with vampire crabs, we had our cull endlers and some of our cull shrimp in with ours and the crabs seem to have left them alone exept for a few baby fish. However, if you intend on breeding them, you should put them in a separate tank as some of the shrimplets will probably be eaten by the Crabs. Hope that helps 🙂

@@Aquadiction thank you so much yes I also wanted to see them have baby shrimp so it does help a lot
