The best presentation of an Arksen. In addition to the redundancy of important systems, the presence of passive safety systems at every step, the utility of things put before luxury makes the lackluster yacht one of the most beautiful ships ever presented and seen!

Fantastic yacht complimented by your thoroughly enjoyable tour. What this tour says is, you have the chops to present the yacht in the best way possible, and you have earned the respect of the owners / builders to be given a 2 hour tour prior to making this video. Additionally I suspect the dozens of cutesy less serious pretend presenters would never be given access to a yacht of this caliber. Your years of hard work has put you in the pantheon of a very elite group of mariners who are invited to present these yachts. Bravo!

The idea of being able to fully customize the layout is a great feature. No two boats are the same interior wise. I was expecting to see more refrigeration and cold storage than we saw. I thought we would of seen a walk in one. Every system has back ups, the back ups have back ups. For distance this is going to take some beating. Thank you so much Nick for showing us around her. 22:54 A doorway is an opening in the structure of the vessel that allows access between different areas or compartments. Yachts typically have multiple doorways to provide passage between cabins, saloons, decks, and other areas onboard. These doorways may be equipped with doors or may simply be open passages, depending on the design and layout of the yacht. The materials and style of the doorways can vary greatly depending on the size, type, and luxury level of the yacht.

Truly a very capable and beautiful boat. The Arksen designers may not like to admit it, but it clearly draws inspiration from the pioneering designs of Steve Dashew and his FPB range of explorers.

They are pretty silent about it, which is a shame, it's a good pedigree that would add value, but I guess they want someone else's credit.

If by “draws inspiration from” you mean directly copy, then I agree with you. Unfortunately, this boat is not nearly as fast as the FPB’s.
@lightning92796 ай бұрын
@@Zepherian Actually the Dashews shut the doors of the company instead of selling the FPB lines of ships. So it doesn't matter if Arksen picks up where the Dashews left off. Plus, Steve was very clear when he shut down the business that some of the FPB owners were not ballasting the FPBs as Steve had designed them to be, which could lead to safety issues. He also said in one of his last posts that vessels similar to the FPBs that were being build did not have a similar engineering. They were apples and oranges.

I’ve had a “love it/hate it” attraction to this yacht ever since it was first announced some years back. Still do after seeing the finished product…I *want* to like this, and I generally do…but…for $10mil+, I don’t want to see weld seams and what looks like an interior from IKEA. I know it’s owner spec, but I think he went a bit overboard on “tuna trawler chic”. A lot of this, however, can be overlooked when I consider “New York to Buenos Aires with fuel left over”. Excellent tour as always! One question…given the range and potential time it mechanically be away from dock, can it carry enough provisions to support this? Thanks!

This vessel is amazing in so many ways. The range is spectacular. For me, it has always been about getting there rather than the destination itself. One of the many interesting things in the engine room was that the engines themselves took up so little space. But everything was so "getatable". We all know that equipment is more likely to be serviced and maintained if it's easily getaaible.

It is fascinating to view different boats from our very own perspectives and prejudices. I saw this boat a few days ago on another channel (yours is better, don’t worry) and I hate the colour “teal”. This boat is full of teal so it had little chance with me! Terribly shallow I realize. Having said all that I can fully appreciate the quality of the build, the utilitarian design, the decent comfort, and some nice upgrades not seen on other yachts (instant hot water). While this boat would not be for me (who cares…right?) I can certainly appreciate its appeal to a brave seaman. I’d be too scared to face the waves and weather that this boat is designed to handle. It is always great to see different types of boats and yachts. My personal experience topped out at a 40 footer which is basically smaller than some of the tenders we see these days. Long story short most of your channel watchers only dream of owning anything as special as most of what you show us. An interesting topic to cover at some point would be boat costs plus annual operating costs, compared to owner net worth. My gauge is that the multiple is about ten times. Want to own a million dollar boat with $100,000 a year in operating costs? Better be worth about $10million so you can afford your home, vacations, cars, retirement plans, and usual lifestyle on top of the boat. Any thoughts Nick?
@AQUAHOLIC9 ай бұрын
I think it all depends on other commitments and how keen a boater you are. Someone mad keen with no kids at home might put a foolishly high percentage in (ahem 😳), someone else with fout kids in private school and a wife with a serious horse habit might earn 10 times as much but put less into boat ownershop

The thought of bashing out into the Western Approaches (on a bad day ) while all the contemporaries head for shelter would be very satisfying. The complexity and design of all the engineering is like a small RN vessel, but I think I might like to host a very competent Engineer and Captain if I was going anywhere out of reach. Its more complex than a Boeing! Interesting the use of solar and batteries in this changing world and I presume 9/14 kt has a much lower carbon footprint than 30kt.
