This is the most fighting chance those fish ever had. Rip sick fishies.

The hobby needs more critical reviews like this. There is too much bad behavior that is allowed to slip by. Awesome video

I was thinking that most of us give each other the benefit of the doubt because every once in awhile it could happen to one of our packages going out. I've sent over 1000 packages and there was one time I sent a package and then saw that colony acting funny and needed meds - who knows what might've happened that I didn't catch. In this case my buyer didn't see any evidence when they landed but I can see how something like that could slip through the nets of a seller every once in awhile. Of course some pure bred guppies are always acting funny anytime they even look at a mail box so it is the buyers job to have salt, uv filter or whatever else gives that guppy the best chance (It's usually me that's the buyer trying to start a rare guppy colony). But when I brought this cross-species issue to Aquahuna you could kind of feel they already interpreted all of the complaints as data and they were cutting their losses, taking the brand hit and just making customers deal with it because they must've gotten a few bad shipments or whatever. It certainly makes me question them doing those water changes by hand now (is it still by hand? I'm not even sure).

this is the kind of stuff that drives away people from the hobby and creates a harmful stereotype that all fish-keepers just "Keep things alive for the sake of doing so" and not because they want a pet fish are pets, not decor nor something to have for an esthethic. I've never heard of aquahuna, but im glad you shed some light to this as many people could still trick themselves onto this, the lack of quality control, possible "factory farmed" fish, no ethical consideration for the lives of animals just makes me sad. I grew up with this hobby and i've seen the way stores, wholesalers and how people treat their fish, its disgusting how this practice has spread to online stores where I thought it would never happen.

I glad you made this video. I had been contemplating buying fish from Aqua Huna because of their pricing, but now I see why. Thanks for the video, and I'm sorry you lost out on their order.

I'm sure they have their ups and downs but I was betting on a fish seller that I thought was always "up." I always see people recommending Aquahuna on Facebook so I'm glad I get to pull in the other direction with this video. The way they responded (by not responding at all) makes me think they were dealing with several emails of the same issue.

Boy you really got slammed. It's very depressing and brings a dark cloud over a fish room when fish get sick/die. I was going along really fine and then boom, i lost a lot of fish. I even bought a favorite fish of mine to heal myself from a loss and from a very reputable seller that came in shell shocked from shipping I guess and never was completely right again and then died. Too much time had gone by so I wasn't going to get any refund. I know i didn't do anything wrong with that fish as it was acting strange from the beginning. Feels like walking through a mine field to purchase fish sometimes. I hope ones you saved continue to do well. They'll be special to you for all the work you put into saving them. Won't make up for all the energy lost from disappointment and getting messed over with tons of sick fish and no refund though I guess, but anyway...this too shall pass!

Big bouts of disease make the small bouts a lot more manageable. That’s the only silver lining I can think of. It’s real aggravating that nets and siphons that touch the sick tanks have the capacity to infect other tanks if you’re not careful. It’s a job and a half and I’ve decided to intake very slowly form now on just to avoid losing big.

Dansfish, Wetspottropicals, Imperial tropicals and Aquatic arts are the only people and stores I'll buy fish from. I've bought fish from all of them and have had ZERO issues. Hell my Betta I ordered from Aquatic Arts just passed away at the AGE OF 5 !! I was lured into aquahuna with their cheap prices but when they offered multiple types of shipping and gloated how their fish can survive can survive multiple days in transit..... Nah, Just can't do business with people like that..

You ain't wrong, that's an impressive Betta. I definitely went against my better judgement, in the end we get this comedy of errors. I even let Aquahuna know in an email I was gonna roast them in a video (lol why would they care?) they responded with more ghosting.

@ I go onto their site every now and then just to see if MAYBE they have something I can’t live without but I never see anything I’m willing to risk my wallet for. When everyone’s shipping probation is over around January 6th I’ll be buying the same species of fish from 3-5 different vendors and then filming the unboxing and all the way through the first week of keeping them to highlight the high or low quality vendors. It’s going to be interesting! It’ll be my first Aquahuna purchase and I can tell it’ll probably be my last.

i have a betta from them, hes doing alright and was priced fairly but ive been hopping on my feet back and forth nicking any fungal infections in the bud i could, i dont get what the problem is because my other betta is like a weathered dragon of the divine gods and shes never had these kind of problems (shes from a local fish store, of course) but hes got a weirdly large lower jaw and keeps ripping his tiny, PLAKAT fins somehow and they heal super slowly, and i cant find any signs of parasites or significant illnesses, hes just a little anomally but atleast i havent had to empty my wallet on hard medications for him. Might try just giving him a bath to try and treat general parasites because maybe he has something i just cant see? who knows. Glad you made this video though, makes me feel better to know of one more shop to avoid

I’ve had a lot of luck with polyguard as a cover-all with bettas which has malachite green among other things. It will melt all your plants. On the other hand I feel like I’ve been gaslit on fish genetics and Bettas have had a lot of variable in quality to them in the last 10-20 years.

So frustrating! Dan's fish and the wet spot are the only two online retailers I order from nowadays for this reason
@BrentonsFish9 күн бұрын
I originally got sticker shock from the shipping price at Dan's but after this fun experience I may need to give it another look.

I am not sure why lots of people recommend them, I bought 8 hillstream loaches and 8 Corys, 6 of the hillstreams are dead already and 2 of the corys are dead as well. I treated them for Ick and internal parasite. urgggg, they did refund me but.... 🤔

One of the many wrong pieces of advice I see on Facebook. I’m sure not all months are created equal at Aquahuna and maybe some strides are better than others but they gave me the oomie goomie something fierce. They refunded me the DOA angelfish 2 cardinals and 3 white clouds. I told them the other fish were really sick and the next day when I hit 50% casualties I sent a second email and I suppose they decided they had enough of me and gave me the ghost. 👻

Not sure what you are complaining about on the angel fish. You bought fish, now they are angels?
@BrentonsFish10 күн бұрын
Yes they are angels in heaven now. That’s my main complaint.
