@Do Not Disturb That was a lot of effort. I was thinking more about the Indonesia tsunami in 2004 or Japan in 2011. The monster wouldn't be bursting through now. The new king has it under control. Sure, the movie was released in 2018, but it takes a few years to get it all together, sort of like Harry Potter. Best I can figure, all that He who must not be named stuff with the kids took place during the 80's sometime. JK was allowed after to write it down in order to ease the non-magical community into understanding. Same thing here. Basically, the news only reached us in 2018. Personally, I'm thinking the 2011 Fukushima quake. Japan has a history with sea monsters and all. I know it doesn't really say it was near Japan, but names and locations have to be changed for copyright purposes of course. Plus, just because they are gradually letting us know about Atlantis, that doesn't mean you get an exact location. Paparazzi issues.
