@@RobsAquaponics I enjoy the aquaponics videos. I just can't apply them now or for the unforeseeable future. I am interested in growing fish and veggies at the same time. In fact I live on a lake which recieves fry from the local state fish farm breeding facility. About an hour away. I should go over there and already would have if I were in better health. I have toured the one down by the ocean where they have tanks of giant saltwater momma fish and daddy fish. Plus the fish lab. And the outdoor fry tanks. Which arent tanks at all. They are small square lakes the fry grow in till released into the ocean. Redfish may be the breed.. The one up here does florida bass I think. Perhaps the freshwater trout as well And maybe bream. I dont know if any of them hatch catfish. Seems like those guys grow like mildew. Who wants mildew? Our state loves to fish and spends a lot of money building lakes. Even where there is enough water and more reservoirs aren't needed. 🤣 so we tell the public it is to supply them with water. But really it is so our lakes have room for fish and lakehouses. It does raise the value of our real estate. And we have.lots of state parks poor folks can go camp and fish for almost nothing. Some days are free. And in state parks no one needs fishing liscenses. I should get you a link to the breeding facilities. You may want to visit one day. They are world class facilities. Maybe you can tour one where you are and show it to us on video. I was planning to visit ours and stream but I'd be honored if you stole the idea and did it yourself. You would know what questions to ask. I would just walk aound and ask lame questions. I may have some lake videos up. I. never seem to remember which ones arent private. I switch them up so not all are up at once. There are too many here at my house. Opsec so less chance I get rolled up on and have to buy new lead. That would be a shame. But as public figures we risk that sadly. I want to see what kind of fish you grow and.how you do it. I found you looking for the best tumeric and ginger growing videos. I just did a search back in spring. Now I am over wintering both in pots. I bought mine from the store during Chinese new year when the price is the lowest and quality the best. Bought a whole box. LOL i love ginger. Anyhow I beleived your video to be the best on KZbin. I watched a lot too. Now I have shared your link so many times I could not possibly count. All with those actually interested in growing the stuff. Lots of people make videos about stuff they cant do or review things they only used once. The number of fortune hunter sub seeker videos people make is mind blowing. Let me go hunt down that link. Rob, what are the advantages of the split system that you have here? Also, don’t the corrugated waterlines collect solid waste?
@RobsAquaponics4 жыл бұрын
It gives you greater control when it comes to regulating bed flow. It also means that you can isolate the fish tank from one or all of the beds if you need to work on the system. There are also down sides as well like needing more pipe/hose work & a larger pump. Another issue can be untreated water going back into the fish tank which was the subject of a resent clip if you wanted to suss that out, kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZ_OlWmfaqd6ack Hope that helped some. Cheers Byron.

Hi Rob, I just have a question. With the lifting outlet at the bottom of the fish tank, will it drain out all of the water in the fish tank if electricity goes off? Thanks
@RobsAquaponics4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ken. It will only lower it to the outlet in the radial flow separator, which is about 15cm/6" lower than the water level of the fish tank. Cheers.
@adwhyatt3 жыл бұрын
Does splitting the FT output so there's a reduced flow going to the settler cause issues with solids not getting picked up by the SLO. My hydrodynamics knowledge is not that great (non-existent), but I'd have thought there would have to be a certain water flow speed to the settler to sweep all the crap along?
@adwhyatt3 жыл бұрын
Also is there any advantage to collecting the solids from low down like this, as opposed to the full height (as you have in your current setup at home)? I can see that a pipework failure would drain the FT but is one better in terms of solids removal?
