Last Sunday, I installed a new Filter in my aquarium and because i'am new to the hobby I didn't know it's better to keep my old media, so I put new filter and new media in a 2 weeks or less aquarium. This causes an ammonia spike to my tank and a was rly afraid for my fish because I have in this tank 10 guppies, 7 corydoras eques, 4 bristlenose ancistrus, & 10 ember tetra. Then looking to youtube to find a solution so I don't lose my fishes, I found your video that says for the Seachem prime & stability, and another video that says to don't change water the first days, and now my tank is awesome! Working excellent! Thank you for this excellent videos m8! you actually saved my fishes, greetings from Greece 🇬🇷!

You still should change the filter but Not often at all. I’m talkin maybe once a year, and when you do change it, make sure to clean the old one in the fish tank because it will help get the tank running with the new one. And the reason that you don’t have to change your filter that often is because when ur doing water changes, you can just wash it in the sink and put it back. But always at prime and stability because they work awesomely. Hope this helped.

@@Nathan_2745 That depends on what type of filter and what size tank. Telling someone new to the hobby that they should only change the media once a year is a bit reckless.

I have a LFS that I go to and the owner is a good guy but sometimes I have to fish for info from him. When I found one of your Vlogs I saw that it was very informative. I have a 130gl and I'm starting to cycle a 310. Both tanks are saltwater and I never knew I could just add Stability and Prime and add fish right after. I normally just add MucroBacter7 and wait for it to cycle. Man thanks for all your great advice. Sorry for the long comment but I had to let you know that you are a great help.

Brand new to the hobby. After watching countless videos on KZbin, yours educated me the most and you get right to it in simple terms, not scientific gibberish. I started with API products and i have to say that they got me nowhere. I think i was more stressed than my fish just having to monitor their behavior because i lost a Rainbow Fish already, i caught myself getting ready to sip out of the Stress Coat and Stress Zyme bottles a couple of times, jk. But seriously, with API i did nothing but chase problems. Never really saw true results. Your videos here on KZbin made me try Seachem products and i damn near INSTANTLY saw a difference in all of my fishes behaviors. A lot happier and problems are now being solved with the assistance of Seachem. Before trying their products and finding your videos i was about to quit the hobby. Now, not so much. Thanks for all of your help and spreading your knowledge to newbies like me. 💯 ❕

After 24 hours Prime is no longer active meaning after that period you can test your water and immediately after add your Prime/Stability. This is the method I use to cycle a new tank with full stocked fish and no fish deaths. I also add Stressguard on top of the other two. After about a week or two your tank should be cycled. Master api test kit to confirm good water parameters then is top using a prime and stability once fully cycled. Easy peasy go get em fish keepers!

While these products are great for starting a tank, what you are telling people is not the truth majority of the time. Anything that totes the claim to instantly cycle a tank is lying. People need to think critically about what cycling means. You need to give your bacterial colonies time to adjust and grow so they can handle the amount of ammonia put off by the fish. A minimum of one week is needed for this to happen and sometimes it takes longer. The only way you can know is by testing the water and looking out for the actual cycling process. You telling people otherwise is going to get animals killed and ruin the hobby for newcomers. It is irresponsible and wrong.
