I just saw one of your video shorts where we can not wright a comment.. The end of this design hits at the stroke of midnight! .. Was this an AQUA DECORE BACKGROUND that the silicone glue gave way and it floated to the top ? can you explain what happened and what can be done about this ?

We want to add fish to our 29gal but our nitrate level is at 200. We added the dosage of healthy bacteria. What else should we do?

? When doing a large water change how much chemicals should you put in? Full dose for the entire tank or just the amount you put in. And how do you keep the temp the same if you don't have a storage tank to regulate the temp.

Discus are not that delicate/hard, but they require more feeding, leading to more water changes. I 100% agree! The tank I just setup is 200ish with a continuous water change system. I still do water changes to clean the tank. I live in Colorado and the water is hard 350 and high PH 7.6 my fish are fine. I think consistent water parms are more important than chasing the perfect numbers. I change around 1% every hour. ( plus cleaning once a week ) I measure nitrate to adjust the water change rate. My last Discus tank I did 2 water changes a week which got a little burdensome. We moved, so this time I got access to a drain and water. I am very happy with the setup, now I just focus on cleaning and the fish.

Remember to tell these uneducated fucking faggots that if you have a ammonia in the tank which is claimed to be needed, then you detoxify it with prime and add stability bacteria to the appropriate amount.

The end of this design hits at the stroke of midnight! A loud crash, splash, and bang…a frantic run to the FishKave fearing the worst. Luckily no fish on the floor. Just half my 3d background sticking out the top of the tank and nearly taking the glass top and lights with it. This is what happens when you don’t follow the protocol or proper procedure for applying silicone. Since it wasn’t applied right the first time, I’m surprised the second go around held this long because it makes success even harder. This won’t be reinstalled again, but it will open the door to the next chapter of this tank….and the possibilities are endless! 🤔

just remove the red trays and you’ll fit more media. It’s too small though stick to the fx 6.

All depends on how much water your taking out, because you take to much out your filters have to be filled so much for it to operate or it will burn up the fx6 is fine because the water inlet is close to the bottom of the tank. Everyone’s tank will be different adjust accordingly

I feel like this is filter specific because self priming hang on back filters will burn out the motor with out water in them

Same principal goes for HOB’s. If your water level drops below the intake then turn it off. If not, no need. I cover that in the full video 😁

@cagiva039 сағат бұрын
1 advise is to stop the filter when filling up with tap water with Chlorine. The anti-chlorine will not be able be 100% effective to treat the entire tanks because it has not yet reach all corners of the tank yet. Once the entire tank is filled up, if you have wave makers, turn them on first to let the entire mix well (or you can use your hand to give a good stir)l so that the anti chlorine can do its job first before switching back on the power of the filters. This is to ensure the bacteria colony stays unharmed in the process of introducing tap water in the tank.
@KaveManAquatics7 сағат бұрын
Not necessary. Chlorine doesn’t impact bacteria instantly. While water conditioner does instantly neutralize chlorine and chloramine. I add Prime directly in the tank while filling every water change for 10 years. Try it 😁

hi Kev, i have a question i hope you could answer as there’s so many conflicting information online and i’m looking for a straight forward answer…i’ve been cycling my 17 gallon tank using your prime/stability method and it took 4 days for nitrates to appear at 5ppm then a few hours later or overnight, nitrates are back at 0. is this normal or am i missing something? the tank has 11 fish and there’s 3 plants. great channel, keep it up!
