How do you dose the erythromycin for BG algae? Is it the same dosage they recommend for fish? Wouldn't it wreck your good bacteria?

Hey Cory, in your quest to make a bigger guppy i think you should consider crossing in Limia perugiae or what i think ive herd called the shiny limia. I had this cross happen to me on accident i had some rare live bears that i didnt think could interbreed with the guppies/ endlers i put in with them and I ended up with essentially larger bolder looking guppies. I separated them and removed the guppies and tried to breed them over the summer but the female hybrid seemed to have had aborted the batch or just ate the new borns but before I could try again they all died while i was on a trip. Im not sure if they will breed true but its just something I figured you’d want to know about.

1 year ago i purchased my first neocaridina shrimps off ebay in spain and they were delivered in a reused water bottle with a tiny piece of guppy grass ( najas guadalupensis), 1 year later i have unlimited supply of guppy grass, last week i did some trimmings and threw almost 1/2 KG of the stuff into my turtle and goldfish ponds and they ate it all over night :) such an amazing plant, also the tiger lotus looks amazing, took an eternity to grow from a bulb but once it establishes well in the tank it propagates like crazy, but a very slow grower if you do not add any fertilisers or co2.

Also, I went way back through your videos and made the plastic mesh breeders for my guppy tanks. I left the bottom out of it, but they work wonders! Hi Cory…. Amazing how much stuff you Gus are allowed in the US, here in australia especially WEST Australia a lot of things aren’t allowed due to being a bio or environmental pest or such. Assassin snails are a huge no, guppy grass is a no to sell/have aswell as water lettuce plant. That’s just a few of a big big list. They’re very strict on customs lists here. Being a huge island they don’t want crap that can take over water ways and ruin or take over our natural livestock n habitat.

Hey Cory, could you give a run down on the agenda to get the fish to actually grow bigger? I'm going to be doing the same exact thing that you do with some swordtails.
@AquariumCoop2 ай бұрын
My plan is to get some fish going and healthy. I'm also searching to see if someone has some larger than normal stock. I'll either switch or mix that in with mine. My next plan is to feed them crazy amounts of food to make sure I'm growing them and not stunting them. This is going to be an auto feeder plus myself. Every 120 180 days, I plan to take the largest fish and restart another tank. Selling off the rest at my fish store. Purely focusing on size at first. If it's a close tie and there are some other traits like color or tail shape I like, I plan to choose that over a blah giant. I expect to see "whoa" have you seen Cory's Monster Guppies in like 3+ years if things go right. Its a long term project, but I love guppies and why not?

Question about red root floaters. Each time I’ve put red root floaters in , the shrimp eat the roots and then as they continue to feed on what’s left of the root, they pull the plant down, eventually killing all of the plants. I just bought more and I’ve decided to isolate the survivors in a quarantine container to let the plants re root. Had anyone else ever had this problem?
@AquariumCoop2 ай бұрын
I haven't run into that. They can be weak if they get shipped to you. However they want more light than you expect. Like you'll have a lot of light, then double that at least and then they might be happy.

@Frank-w8q3f9 күн бұрын
Breeding is the thing I have never done. My angels are breeding age now, wondering if it can happen because they are very healthy. I noticed a strange thing, I put two gold marbles with two wild type, the WT have orangish or flesh colored tops of heads, sometimes they turn orange. One of my gold marbles turned into a orange marble, he's got a bright orange head and looks fantastic. My fish are so looking nice, I should record them and vlog them. I am surprised, they all match now and they are copying each other colors ?. Not sure how or why my fish turned bright orange, a gold marble. I would like more orange marbles that would incredible, since those don't exist. I seen lots of blues, different exotic pinoys but not orange. I might be able to breed a new type of Marble Angelfish, that would such an amazing thing. Now...I need advice from the heavyweight GOATS of fish tank breeding hobbies, all of you. How do I make this happen ?. Frozen foods, red lights, what else ?. Sponge filter. I don't know much about breeding at all. Whatever happens I guess. Angels have been great fish for the hobby, they are like water doggies, always wagging their tails at me, very interactive fish. I wasn't expecting them to be such good fish, not sure how else to say that. I have kept a lot of different kinds of fish. Now they eat pellets straight from my hand, I am like wow. They stay active in the water column, look cool. I think I have a special fish I should to breed her/him for future generations, cause it can be a new variation of a marble. I never seen any bright orange like it, has anyone else ?. Plus the fish is just adorable too, looks like a kid drew his face, has funny lips and it's just a really good angelfish. I can see him/her going quite viral, with those handsome looks, been exciting since I got them all, they are all like stud fish. The guy who sold me the orange marble variant, Japanese guy Dan I think who used to work at Old Town Aquarium for like 20 years, they closed down after Covid which sucks since that was the best place in Illinois for years just very expensive prices, I still would buy stuff anyways cause they had excellent stuff and a great store. So now owns a shop called Big Fish, he has killer angels he's a good guy, I forgot his name. If you're in Illinois hit him up for a angelfish. He has too much knowledge to not stay in business somehow, he had dragonfish so cool omg. That's what I would do, Angels on on side, Dragons on the other, trust me It would make the most killer display room that exists, I guarantee or money back, room right now with just fish, not everyone is going to be able to do that though, nothing could probably beat that for me, coral a different thing obviously. Dragonfish are just too cool all by themselves, that has to be the coolest fish ever.
