I had a stroke in 11/22/2016 when I was 30 yrs. Old and with the stroke, I had aphasia - the inability to read, write and understand. I had to start from scratch ABC’s, reading and writing. I was able to recover and I lost 80 lbs from 210. And now in 2024, I was diagnosed with end stage kidney disease (April). I need to go to the hospital 3x a week for dialysis. It’s hard but i know I can do it because I got through and survived the stroke & aphasia. My stroke was the hardest thing I had to go through but it was also the best thing that happened to me. The infection in my leg left me disabled and with many other issues. I had to learn to walk again, and I had to give up my job. I became isolated, and then covid made it worse. It's always a hard day. This year has been hard. My support system fell away, so I've been going it alone for a while. It's not easy. There is always hope for better days. 😊

Please pray for myself, I lost a lot and been through a lot due to my abuse of alcohol. I’m not an addict, I don’t drink everyday nor do I need to. I like to have fun with friends of course, going out for drinks and that nature. When things go wrong in my life I tend to self sabotage which puts me in an even bigger hole. And honestly I just want a healthier lifestyle again. My home life doesn’t really help either seeing as I live with alcholic family members. I’m coming off a binge as we speak, so my body isn’t the same right now. I am still recovering but everyday gets better. I guess I grew up in a good family household and I’m blessed but when problems occur, things happen. Fights/yelling/ just all type of things that I’ve had to go through and it cuts deep when it’s your loved ones. It’s harder when the solution is to just sweep it under the rug and no real resolution comes out of it, until the next altercation and it’s just a cycle that I’ve had to endure these past 32 years. When you talked about what you went through with your surgery that really touched home. I’m praying for my loved ones and I’m hoping for the best. It’s not my focus even though I would like to reinvent my relationship I have with alcohol. Weather that be just social, give myself a limit, etc etc. I just know when I’m emotionally hurt, I tend to use that as a scapegoat. But I’m working hard on myself and on my life and you’re absolutely right, I’m not depending on anybody but me and spirit. I am discovering how to put balance to my cold body. They call them blockages. I am watching a lot of Chinese meditation, qi gong meditation connecting the body with the universe.
