Howdy George. Never apologise for ' rambling ' , there are lil gold nuggets of knowledge hidden in your ramblings. So, ignore those other types of nuggets who find the need to criticise a professional who affords us his time and expertise for free. Always appreciated George. Pmsl, it doesnt need plants, such is the strength of this hardscape. Great stuff maestro. Cheers. Joe

Awe...you stopped. The rambling is important, it's creative free association, thinking out loud. 😘 That is a really bold composition. The rocks and wood merge so well together. I think a large amount of weeping moss creeping down the rocks would look good. Looking forward to seeing what you decide on for the final planting and stocking. 👍💕👍

Thank you George - just in time for my 10 gallon rescape today. I have alot of different types of stone that I ordered because my LFS is outrageously expensive, but Its difficult to get the stone you want unless you can order WYSIWYG. Finally got lucky and had some awesome pieces of dragon stone delivered and of an appropriate size to make a high impact aquascape. Placing the wood so it is aesthetically pleasing is a challenge for me.

To add more detail to your carpet, especially against the stone, maybe try some Littorella uniflora. I've been growing it a few months now, and it's really undemanding. It's even ok in the shade.

I love the hardscape! So much height and detail to it! For plants, I would love to see you use some Bolbitis, Hygrophila pinnatifida and Hydrocotyle tripartita. Also, maybe some dwarf stems for variety? For example, Rotala bonsai, Staurogyne repens, Alternanthera reineckii 'mini'. I think a mixed carpet would look great with this, maybe Crypt parva, Lilaeopsis and Marsilea mixed with things like Blyxa, Littorella uniflora and Hydrocotyle? Looking forward to seeing what you do!

Looks great so far. Good to meet u today at Riverwood (The tanned one who just got back from Malta 😁)
@philedwards73315 жыл бұрын
That's the ticket right there. It's a nice combination of open and the diagonal plane lines you like. It's turned out to be quite a nice concave arrangement going strictly off the frontal snapshot. This may sound counter to the slow growing carpet you want, but what about Glosso? That stuff's easy to maintain in large open areas. With as low and spread out as the hardscape is, the carpet needs to be something equally low to maximize on the structure. Could you get some Elatine triandra? That may be a good bet for you if it grows as slowly as it's reputed to.
@hugosorensen74645 жыл бұрын
Hydrocotyle tripartita would look nice midground, especially creeping through the rocks.

Great scape, Love the rock and wood placement. I would love to see a real collection of colors, with Ludwigia palustris, Alternanthera reineckii, Tiger Lily, Hygrophila polysperma It would be very interesting on how you manage to really bring the red color out. This would really work with the plants you already have.. I went for natural looking mixed carpet that I have monte carlo, Eleocharis Acicularis, Hemianthus Callitrichoides and Cryptocoryne Parva but then I've gone for a large jungle tank with about 50 different species of plant.
