So grasshopper if you can snatch the rock from my hand then a tree does make a sound if it falls in a forest even if you're watching a George Farmer video... # Zen

I wonder why the discus look good in this planted tank while they didn't like it when George's tank was so. He had to go plantless.

Nice. I noticed that you noted using chat GP on the voice over. I'm not John Conner trying to put a stake in the heart of Ai, but I'd rather just hear from you, from your heart. In my opinion, that's why I'm here: your experiences in the hobby, how the hobby helps you through the paths of life and your interactions with others. Great video.

Whatever I do with aquascape, water change, new design ideas, observing the current tank's development, pruning... I enter a completely different state of mind, meditation. I feel that all the excess energy accumulated in my soul and brain is flowing away. I have had an aquarium for a very long time, but aquascape has been around for 4-5 years. And you are one of the few names that have inspired me in this process. May you have healthy days... 🙏🙏

I just watched MD’s video where you recently did a tank in his studio. I just wanted to let you know that you have a kindred spirit here in the US. I was an aquarium keeper for many years but parenting takes time and although I never lost my love of fish keeping I lost the the time to give other living creatures. I am a disabled veteran and at the beginning of the COVID pandemic my PTSD kicked in and the only thing that kept me sane is watching youtube videos about fish keeping. Thank you for sharing being a veteran. We know that all veterans gives some and some give all. Taking life becomes easy by supporting and taking care of life although difficult is much more rewarding.

I love how the tank is coming out, a new planted tank is always exciting. I might of missed it from your previous videos, but is there a reason there’s so many cryptocorynes? I thought Dutch had a rule about using the same species more than once.

Beautifully said George. I’ve told you this before but I feel it needs to be reiterated. You got me back into the hobby I enjoyed as a child and introduced me to aquascaping through KZbin. You have made such a difference in people’s lives and I for one will be forever grateful! Thank you George 🙏

I’m in the primary stages of creating an aquascape (just building my dojo) tank being made as I write. I’m inviting the divine (Jesus/Holy Spirit in my case) into the process and I see it as a Co-creating, Co-labouring opportunity. I’m hoping that like Brother Lawrence (practicing the presence of God) I’m going to experience presence, love, peace and joy in the process. Intrigued and fascinated by other peoples experiences and really appreciated Balazs’s videos on the psychology of aquascaping. Thank you for being fully present in what you do and expressing so eloquently and vulnerably your process. Blessings, Paul

Couldn't agree more, George! I recently moved into management at an aza Zoo facility, and I really want to incorporate my hobbies into my job and create more aquascape-like habitats for the animals. It will take time, but I believe the concepts translate well, especially composition.

I love your message George! For me there is something spiritual about aquascaping, even more so than there is in bonsai. The dynamism in an aquascape has other levels, teaches you so much about life, discipline, acceptance, science and restfulness. Is aquascaping the best hobby? Aquascaping is the best hobby.

The shimmer effect is not something special or unique to Kessil lights, any led bulb from Home Depot will do the same. If any one is watching this video because they are deciding what ligths to get please stay away from Kessil. Mine stopped working just after the 1 year mark when I tried to use the integrated dimmer and the whole thing started to burn.

George you nailed it. You’ve implemented the metaphysical desire to create in the explanation of why Aquascaping has transcended beyond being a hobby. Like any other child I liked computer games. Then I got older and realized how repetitive they are. As a teenager I liked cars and I still love them but the modern ones are a joke. As a young adult I came back to my first love - love for the nature. From Aquascaping to botany, all these intricate things arrayed in endless combinations provide complexity that occupies entire lifetimes and that’s the beauty of it. Aquascaping has it all, the desire for knowledge that can never reach know-it-all. The desire for beauty, our souls cling to attractive things after all. The desire for creating is also here, Aquascapers can create life, harmony and art. Aquascaping satisfies carnal desire to see beauty and the metaphysical desire to feel the ultimate connection with nature through that beauty which we create.

Great video George and so true! I got into this hobby years ago and took the full plunge because of you, I have had fish tanks all my life but an aquascape was a total different feeling for me, the CONNECTION was like no other and I have embraced the hobby since, my only regret is that I didn’t take the plunge into aquascape sooner 😊 again, THANK YOU!
