I disconnected the power cable my AquaVac 500. No water leak into the motor but the swivel part of the cable has an intermittent connection, the resistance changes as you spin it.. Is there a way to disassemble the swivel to look at the connections ?

Does anyone have any idea how to remove the tires so we can replace a part ?

So mine stopped working and I decided to follow your video to see if there was water where you suggested there might be. The good news is that there was no water but now that I have removed that cap I see there was some type of silicone seal on the threads that has now fallen apart. So how do I reseal this? Can I use Teflon tape? Also, I have to say I'm not a big fan of Hayward. Bought a salt generator and the board went in the second season and I've already had to replace some drive parts on this pool vac. From my point of view Hayward makes junk.

Sorry you’ve had a bad run w Hayward. I can certainly name lots of brands that the build quality is way worse. Where the cord attaches to the cleaner there is a rubber seal. If this is gone it needs to be replaced. You can seal an old rubber w some silicone but not replace a rubber

I did love my aquavac 500 but it stopped working ( can see why now ) and they replaced it with tiger shark qc and I got shafted :-(

These pool cleaners are not a patch on the South African system - Baracuda is one make, but they have a suction system, with a large rubber disc which suctions onto the pool sides. We have tried Hayward, and have been frustrated by it all the way along. I'd never buy this make again.

I would not buy a Hayward product again, I paid $1,600 It was 6 months out of warranty and you guessed it the cord let water into the Electric's. It's obvious that it is a design fault and Hayward should fully refund regardless of warranty.

Why would you have a water leakage problem with a AquaVac 500 (when as you say its a common problem) and then go and buy a Tigershark (another Hayward product). Makes absolutely no sense at all.

Hi Stephen. Makes perfect sense when the Tigershark is a tried and tested unit that has a great record. Lots of people loved their aquavac’s too. Just cause it had one fault doesn’t mean you throw out a whole brand.

@@Marksreviewsandtutorials Hi Mark, I loved my AquaVac 500 too until last night when it failed. There is no way in a million years that I will buy a product from a company and have it fail due to a widespread issue and then reward the company that sold the faulty product by buying something else from them.

Tiger Shark uses the exact same motor as the AquaVac 😂

These products are terrible.Bad design. Cord -crap engines. They dumped a ton here in Canada as we have only 10-12 weeks of pool --weather.so-- that equates to 30-40 uses per season. so 60-80 times over 2 years and they crap out! So warranty is gone.! In your Country using it every DAY is 700 times per 2 year warranty so it is maybe a better DEAL!! 2-3- Dollars per use! It cost me 40 dollars Per USE!!I Anyways they are not made and the New ONES appear to be Terrible! I have everything Hayward but Never Again for this Item.
