Fuel consumption depends a lot on your speed. If you cruise a long in 3 knots you get a really low fuel consumption but you also hardly have enough speed to steer. If you go easy trawler speed at about 5 knots you will burn 1.2 gallons/hour and get the distance of 4.1 miles (nautical miles) This speed is comfortable and relaxing but will still take you where you are going. Kind of like a sailboat.

Exactly. Our 46 foot Meridian had a very economical burn rate at 7-9 kts on the ICW and a drastic one at 17 kts when we would go outside on a calm sea. Thanks!⚓️Mark

I love the Aquila. I prefer the larger one with the bow porch but I’ve heard they are flat-water boats. Not ideal in rough weather! The Great Lakes are known for kicking up nasty storms quite fast! I’m from Ohio and grew up on Lake Erie. Trust me, you’ll want a heavy duty Hatteras or Viking to be happy! Please look at the 2000 60’ Viking CMY that I’ve shared with you. I think it’s the perfect loop princess!

My concerns on the CMY 60 are the air height, lack of a lower helm, and tender storage on the bow.

@@TheBoomershines all valid concerns. I know she’s good on the height as most spent their summers in the Great Lakes. Look at the one in Charlevoix, MI. I prefer the bow area for the tender as it frees up the aft area behind the fly bridge for better visibility. I also prefer a downstairs helm but the enclosed fly bridge more than makes up for it! I’d fill the hardtop over the bridge with solar panels. The 60 is probably my next boat! Hard to beat the layout in my opinion for live aboard versatility.

I want one!! $980k brand new in Singapore. Great ride home through Indonesia, Bali, Raja Ampat, Aussie Land, New Zealand, Fiji, Solomon's, Marshall Island Nuclear charge up @ Bikini Isle (yikes!), Hawaii, Panama Canal. Only downsides are refer and freezer sizes. Would need on up top, one in galley, and one portable??? Maybe full size fridge instead of closet on r/h side of desk in master? Laudry in there a must also but this cat checks all the boxes for just under $1 million brand spanking new, aye? Lots of dry, canned goods and fishing, fishing, fishing with this lifestyle though. I'd definitely get the all-enclosed upper deck so downstairs can be all lounge and a desk/navigation area instead of driving downstairs. Great homeschool boat!!

The 44 full beam master cabin has the head and shower in the port forward hull with the dressing area and desk in the starboard hull. Sorry the available 44's didn't work for you guys.
