I made a pot holder and had trouble sewing it because I cut it the same size as on the front 🙄...found out the hard way! Learned something new! I've just started quilting and I love it! I love watching your videos...Thank You!

I’m not one to machine sew my bindings and will always hand sew them. So much neater looking. Thanks for the great tutorial.

A bonus of a machine with fancy stitches, is that I do a fancy zig zag stitch to attach the binding. It adds another design level as well

amazing tutorial!! in the past, i have read instructions on how to make pot holders but being an inexperienced quilter, these relatively 'easy' projects are not so easy for me to understand. but having a visual tutorial, like you generously just made, is beyond helpful. your tutorial was informative, easy to understand and so clear to visualize. you have given me the confidence i needed to finally try making these pot holders. thank you for sharing. 🦋💞

When one teaches, one should teach every step, I'm also a newbie, you don't even have a sewing machine in sight, you should show how you sewed the squares together. You seriously need to be more professional. Pretty pot holders, but you need to sew, maybe redo the video

I am a beginner Quilter (haven't sewn anything yet), but have watched a lot of Tutorials. I have seen some on QAYG, Postage Stamp, and tonight yours on Potholders. I want to start small, like a Mug Rug, and you gave an idea, instead of Mini Charm Packs, I am going to use 1 1/2" squares to make my Mug Rug. So hurry with that Binding Tutorial.

I have made my first pot holder. It’s also my first experience with bias binding. I was wondering if you would make a video showing how to put bias binding on. I had trouble getting the binding to go around the rounded corners without bunching up and getting pleats. Also, I had trouble joining the tails because there is such a small space between the tails. Thank you so much. I have learned so much from your videos.

Such a great idea for very cheery potholders. I don't have any charm packs handy but I certainly have plenty of scraps to use in the scrap bag. It's a good time to get some gifts ready too since it looks like it will be a very quiet summer. I tried to download the PDF instruction sheet but it would not open. I'll try again later.

Great video...I'm re-doing my kitchen so these will be a great addition. How do you attach the 2 ends of the binding together? The same as with a quilt?
@sherrimcconnell40944 жыл бұрын
Yes, I leave the final side completely unsewn until I've joined the ends. I do it just like I do for a quilt with a diagonal seam.

Thanks! I never knew there was a right and wrong side of batting either. How does it affect the quilt?
@hankandmaggieroberts717710 ай бұрын
Hi Sheri, I've tried making the potholders and the tops look great when finished and pressed. But when I stich all the layers together the squares get warped and wonky looking. What am I doing wrong? I've tried pinning the layers or sewing without pinning. Maybe I should try only 1 layer of batting?
