I find it hilarious that people will take a budget rifle/optic, run 500-1000 rounds through it with no problems and say they like it for the range but wouldn't trust their life to it. that's crazy because my experience has been the exact opposite. The vast majority of shooters are using cheapo optics and sometimes they can shoot pretty good and other times they have literally no idea what they're doing because they go to the range once or twice a year and don't do any dry fire in between. These are often the same guys who cause problems for the club because they mag dump without any idea what "recoil control" means and end up sending rounds over the berm but I digress. The few people I see who actually spend the money on a nice optic are the same few people who I see at the range week after week and they all bought those expensive optics because they shoot a lot and realize there are legitimate benefits to using a more premium optic. I have not met one single person with an Aimpoint who was completely incompetent. I'm sure there are rich guys who buy a gun and just buy all the most expensive stuff for it and then get bored with shooting and don't bother to practice. Obviously that happens. But I never see those guys at the range.

My first reflex / red dot ~ green dot / electric optics was a firefield 29.99 optic.... its not good BUT!!! it allowed me to see the difference in green vs red reticles, 65 moa ring, 3 moa dot and crosshair. explaining on a video 2 - 3 - 6 moa dot means nothing if you never seen what one looks like, shooting with one and mounting it. to your weapons things like do you like low or high risers, glass quality, eye box relief, magnification levels, etc... I still have that firefield i use it on a 22LR upper... it works but that was the step needed to get sig, primary arms, monstrum, holosun. the crisper dots, the clearer glass, the glass with anti-glare coating, better warranties and service, overall features, aesthetics and fitment. 2nd time(s) crying will be tears of joy knowing you want to invest more into hobbies $500+ dollar item, knowing you want to take whatever you do serious or just treat yourself to better products with some knowledge / experience know you will most likely enjoy that purchase.
