Started with the standard Gen 2 CMMG mags, ended up with the better mag adapter and the M&P -5-22 mags. Not only do you get true LRBHO even when the mag is removed, but they are way easier to load and clean, and fairly affordable too. M&P 15-22 mags all the way if possible!

Scooped 20 gen1s for $5 a piece new, looks like I'll be sticking with them for a while

Same here- I bought the CMMG conversion kit with 13 Gen1 mags before I got a dedicated 22 upper. Now I'm waiting for the McFadden speed loader.

Does shimming the CMMG Gen 2 mags for a tighter fit, along with your Heavier upgrade springs fix all there issues? Or do you feel the a shimmed S&W 15-22 mag would still have less issues?

15-22 mags are still better.

Nice video! Any experience using the Catch22 with 15/22 mags in lieu of the Better Mag adapter which has been out of stock everywhere?

If you look closely, that lower has a catch22 V2 in it. It also requires an adapter on the magwell. We prefer the BMA, but you can get to the same point with the catch22.

Would you still say the 15-22 magazines are the best option ? I noticed the Kriss magazine, and im curious on your thoughts ?

can you make a video showing how to replace the CMMG mag springs with your extra power springs? Having a real tough time keeping the spring in line while trying to close the magazine body back up
@BoreBuddy9 ай бұрын
Yeah, we can do that. You just start the bottom plate on the rails, and then push the spring in with one hand and slide the bottom cover on.

I have an issue with m&p15 22 mags. They detach from the mag catch if wiggled or bumped.

So to be clear. I can run m&p mag in my standard ar15 w/ cmmg conversion kit and the mag adapter, before I buy that.

if you just stretch the underpowered springs... wouldn't that fix it?
@yourangerfuelsmeАй бұрын
no, you're not added coils, just lengthening the travel and rotational torque of the springs, effectively shortening their life span.
