I was actually surprised at the simplicity of your solution for picking the cups up; Not having any knowledge in this area, I would have gone all around the houses for a solution which would have been overly complicated. The 'grabbing two cups' is an interesting one. Wherever I've worked in offices and they've had free cups like that, whether they be coffee cups or water cups, there's always the thought in the back of my mind when I go to grab one, " will I just get the one, or will I end up with two three or four cups in my hand?..." Anyway I'm a complete novice at mechatronics, so I'm watching mainly for the entertainment value (and a bit of inspiration too).

What type of servo did you use? Do you mind to share th gripper 3D model that was updated with servo? I checked your thingverse and i realized that the gripper is static..
