33:49 I'm more meticulous when it comes to scouting. I clean everything with 2 scouts. I could add more later but not with every civs. 2 is enough early game. In my city center, I go for a dwelling asap cause it gives a big bonus of production and since I clean everything as fast as possible, I actually have a high chance of getting a basket or (rarer) a furniture to supply my dwelling with which gives me even more production. You can snowball quite fast early game with that strategy. I put the first farm on my second tile as I go for a high food tile. Then my 3rd tile is a 5-6 slots region in which I'll start my industry. I'm putting 4-5 workshops and I save the last slot for a windmill as it gives flat bonus production to all industry in the region it is built but the food bonus is city global so I don't have to put it next to a farm. Dwellings in city centers are actually crazy good: you get +66% housing from it (you go from 3 to 5 space)! I just save 2 spots in my cap for the Palace and the Monument later but every following city have at least 4 dwellings in the city center with a basket and a furniture supplied to get the extra production.

so I play on the second to last (I think its called baron) difficult, Its been great for learning how to open your civ up for future expansion and material making. Thanks for the good vid, keep it comin ^_^

@@frankiesanchez2319 yeah that’s actually what I’ve found out just sitting on one city and rushing it does wonders - worked on a super strategy today for getting influence from production - good call out though - this pretty much seals the deal

So far the highest difficulty I’ve beat it on is grand duke with Egypt on the heatwave map. It’s a low food and wood map that nerfs the AI more than Egypt. There’s a good chance for an area to spawn with several 4/4 food regions so maybe reroll until you spawn im or near it.

21:25 I agree, sea tiles are currently bad, even with fishing boats on it. A farm is waaayyy better sadly... A sea tile has only 2 spots when land tiles can have between 1 and 6 areas for construction. Even late game with fishing industry, the tiles are still bad. It's even the worst cause you have to destroy the fishing boat to set up the fishing industry cause the game doesn't gave them the "upgrade button"... Nothing improves a water tile... It's painful. The only good thing about marine coasts are the sea shells cause you can use it to harvest salt wich is processed in many foods during mid game. It's more abundant than salt mines so you an always win on that as you don't need to aquire the water tile early but a bit later. The fises are "meh", pigs and sheeps are better to be turned into delicacies. Whales are too rare. I wish coastal cities were funnier. The only good thing is the dockland specialist raising the city production by 20% (instead of flat 10)

Oh I forgot => I used fishes for tallow to make candles. I store it in houses

8:20 The max amount of HP you can loose on a "danger 2 hunt" in total is 70 when you're unlucky. You could go right away with a 90HP scout. It won't die. That's some micro that could make you earn more early game

I basically only went single AI and set it to Mexico, and then proceeded to reroll until the AI spawned in my face at the start. I basically did it just to get the beat the game on emperor achievement... And even then it was rough. Mexico's capital was like 7 tiles away from mine and by the time I managed to take their capital, he had already unlocked bronze working

@@TacticatGaming yeah, I mean considering you need about 2K prestige mimimal to make it past the first act... I don't think there's enough triumph in the first 3 age that will net you that

My preference is not to beat the AI asap, but to find ways to make the late endgame exciting against AI. It probably needs a better UI to decrease the grind and a tech slider.

6:05 You can't die on a "danger 1 hunt". You have 50% chance to lose 10 HP. That's very low. Just farm it!

48:55 Yeah England's bonus on fishing nets is nice but you actually can't get too many fishing boats in a big city. Farms are better sadly :/ Also, you can't take a city with boats. That's sucks :/
