Thanks a lot for this impressive work. I myself practise Arabic "Khatt" (Thuluth). Tell me, I see you sometimes form some letters with 4 or 5 movements. Should we always do like that or may we form some of them with 2 movements ?

Please excuse my western ignorance. As Arabic is a right-to-left script, is calligraphy done mainly with the left hand as you show here? I find this beautiful, meditative, and quite wonderful to watch. :)

I'd never taken that into account actually, I wonder if Arabic countries have a higher percentage of left handed people? And us westerners, with our transcript routes of going from left to right correlate with the high proportion of right handlers. An evolutionary trait maybe?

I am just a beginner but already in love with this beautiful writing. I read that for the left-handers the writing is at the start harder, yet some of the most gifted writers are lefties. Being a little bit ambidextrous I'm experimenting both ways. Thank you for your inspiration! ❤️

assalamu alaykoum, some people use chinese ink others make their own..chemistry.about.com/od/inksandinkchemistry/a/black-ink-recipe.htm or chemistry.about.com/od/inksandinkchemistry/a/brown-ink-recipe.htm just examples.. hope i helped
