Yusuke Yamasaki the guy playing the "japanese gangster" is the same "japanese businessman" from RATATATA. Always nice "I know this guy!" moment. PS. He is the german resident "japanese guy". Also, you might be ready for "Kalle Koschinsky feat. Electric Callboy - Castrop X Spandau" now.

Parasite or Mindreader next, my king? I feel like you’re in love with them enough you are ready for their more “serious” songs. Parasite is my favourite both studio and live. Also One EC song that you might not have caught because it’s on a different channel -their collaborator Kalle Koschinsky, a German KZbinr - is Castrop x Spandau. All in German but doesn’t matter, pure energy! And written and filmed in 48 hours after Kalle challenges them to do that.

Yess!! Finally the duo is done!! Have you noticed that no matter how hard you try or prepare yourself, you never know what you are going to get with their videos. Their creativity is insane, and they just give zero fucks about them being silly and 100% themselves, this band is just INCREDIBLE 🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥

You're spot on with your observation about them using relatable cultural references. Not only does the music resonate with us on an incredible level, taking the best of parts of the most popular genres in the past 25 years and putting them in a blender. But the inclusion of those reference also acknowledges the viewers as people, and that's a rare thing for a piece of media to achieve.

You say so many things my friend and I keep saying about EC. Like, they get it. They connect so perfectly with everything we are and everything we've been. They're always right on the spot. Their pop culture references are exactly the same as ours. It's hard to explain how connected we feel to these guys but I think you summarized it perfectly well! And I agree that a whole concept album with every clip being connected to one another needs to happen at some point! It would just make so much sense!

This song was like Sailor Moon 😂 Have you noticed Kalle Koschinsky dressed as a cook? The EC Multiverse might be a little unsuited for kids 😂 Don’t know if Disney would listen. 😜 I really want you to sing Castrop x Spandau in German. (But be careful of your surroundings - the not suitable for kids part applies 😅) Thank you for your enjoyable rants! ❤

I may be incorrect, but I think the "vocal frye" you referred to is called a pig squeal. You should see the wall of death that the crowds form at the live shows during "LET'S GOOOOOO!" *chef's kiss* And the guys encourage it. It's fantastic. Their crowd engagement is top tier. The boys are 100% relatable. After you watch their stuff, if you don't feel like you're already their friend, you want to be.

You HAVE to watch the Rock am Ring full performance of EC. It was released a couple weeks ago. Imagine 50k to 60k people jumping and dancing to this song. At one point they have about 15 massive circle pits going on throughout the crowd. One of the best shows I've ever watched.

Fun fact: I was living back then at Spandau, thats a district of Berlin. One day I was at the "Zitadelle" in the park, just stopped there during a bike ride, opened a beer. And was looking at a group of strange people running around in ninja clothes and laughing their asses off. I didn't know who it was. I mean, kinda normal to have strange people in Berlin. A month or so later a friend sends me the clip and says "it was filmed around a corner". Hahaha, if i only knew...

Love your reviews. I can't wait for Wednesdays. Saw them in Boston last month. This song was one of the highlights. You hit the nail on the head. These guys are such good people, they can share their fantasies and nightmares because they won't be over the top. This is genuine real-people music. I think you should do Pizza Homicide next. It's not listed as Electric Callboy, but Nico is in it and the sound is unmistakably Callboy. The other two are from when they were kids. Cheers!

If you want an album like that with a running story with the cinematic music videos to match you should check out Ice Nine Kills. Their last 4 videos link up to uncover a murder mystery. They are a horror based band and every music video is based on a movie and at the end of the video the FBI is watching them because the singer is the suspect and gives clues in the videos. Check it out because it's also big nostalgia crack with Easter eggs everywhere
