Rangayya (S.V. Ranga Rao), a mill worker, loses his sight in an accident, leading to the separation of his three children: Lakshmi (Baby Vijayalakshmi, Sriranjani), Ramu (Akkineni Nageswara Rao), and Babu (Chalam). Before they part ways, Lakshmi sings the lullaby 'Nidurapora Tammuda' to her younger brother, a song that becomes pivotal in reuniting them.
Twenty years later, their lives intertwine in unexpected ways. Lakshmi, now a cook, works in the house of a landlord (Mikkilineni). Ramu joins a drama company, disguises himself, and earns the love of the landlord's daughter (Savitri). Babu, raised in a different household, falls for the landlord's daughter (Kusuma Kumari). When Ramu's elder son dislikes Lakshmi, he forces her out, but she continues to sing the old lullaby.
Ramu, recognizing his sister's voice, helps reunite with Babu and their blind father, Rangayya. The story culminates in a joyful resolution: Rangayya is reunited with his children, misunderstandings are cleared, and all three siblings find happiness in their chosen relationships.

Dr. Murali Krishna, a reserved medical student, aims to study abroad to honor his late mother's wish. His scholarship is granted by the college principal, V. R. Rao, but a jealous classmate, Sarala, sabotages his relationship with fellow student Anuradha. As a result, Murali loses his scholarship and returns to his village. His father, Gopalam, secures funds from wealthy local Lingaiah on the condition that Murali marries Lingaiah’s daughter, Lakshmi.
Reluctantly, Murali agrees and leaves for abroad. Meanwhile, Anuradha, despite her heartbreak, is tasked with transforming Lakshmi into a sophisticated lady, as Lingaiah is also her uncle. Lakshmi, uninterested in Murali, falls for someone else, leading Anuradha to write letters to Murali pretending to be Lakshmi.
Murali loses his eyesight in an accident, and Anuradha continues to care for him under the guise of Lakshmi. When a surgery is planned to restore his sight, complications arise: Lakshmi learns of Anuradha’s affection for Murali, elopes with her lover, and is forcibly returned. Murali eventually regains his sight and discovers Anuradha’s true identity. The film concludes with Murali and Anuradha, as well as Lakshmi and Yoganandam, finding happiness.
