Aradin was already a weak bitch when you saved him at the start of the game from a few goblins. How he thought he could take on a demi goddess backed by a camp full of high level adventurers pumped up on magic items and tadpole powers is beyond me.
@Saljace10 ай бұрын
lmao yeah he was. I let the fight play out without my party's interference and at least one of the side characters in his group dropped dead before Wyll and Zevlor carried the rest. @@Saljace There would be a point if there were added mechanics to the game. Aradin got 28 or 36 hit points? Depending on the difficulty? So here is what I am thinking in terms of mechanics: Have him surrender... Due to a show of force. However, what I wish we could do is this: kidnap him, bring him down to Orin at that sacrificial tabernacle in the temple of Baal, and go: "He is yours. He tried to enslave a friend of mine, an assimar, for gold from Lorokian. Oh and here is Angry Mar'hyah, she is yours as well: she is pretty violent with animals. I don't care what you do to them... You could see them as offerings or slave or whatever. See you later, got to go and kill Cazador, destroy the steelwatch, and bring you Wulbren Bongle. See you later." "But, I wanted to..."

Great video man, I appreciate the amount of time you put into exploring each dialogue option and outcome. To that end, I have a question. I noticed in your video that Aylin was with you during the camp fight, but does she have to be in order for it to trigger? In my current run, I spoke to Aradin and told him he could “forget about turning her in for a reward”, and it was only after I spoke to Lorroakan that I went to camp and told Aylin about the whole thing, specifically the line that says both the wizard and a “violent mercenary” were after her. She proceeded to fly off to the tower, but I’ve yet to join her for the boss fight at the time of writing. Does that mean I’m locked out of Aradin’s foolish confrontation?
@Saljace4 ай бұрын
I am pretty sure I tested that and I think you are locked out of his attempted night raid. I'm not 100% sure so I can check again for you or you can try setting a manual save and do a few long rests. It shouldn't take more than maybe 4 for the trigger. I think I found that pretty much he's just after Aylin and if Aylin was MIA for any reason then he wouldn't show. Also, you have to fail the skill check with him about finding her in order for it to trigger in the first place. Speaking to Lorroakan before Adarin shows up is not required, but it will change dialogue with Aylin after the attack on the basis that you knew there was a bounty on her head and it puts Isobel in danger. I think that covers everything, but I can answer anything else you got!
@the_revanchistlegion4 ай бұрын
@@Saljace I reckon you’re probably right. After posting my comment, I did about four long rests to see if I could get it to trigger. The first rest triggered Halsin’s love confession, the second triggered Mizora’s one-night stand, the third triggered the doppelgänger reveal, and I called it quits after the fourth triggered something involving Astarion and his spawn “siblings”; all of them obviously having nothing to do with this scene. But that may not _necessarily_ mean I’m locked out of it, since I stopped exactly at four instead of doing another. However, if you’re positive that failing the deception check is the only way to trigger the fight, then I guess I can confirm that I did lock myself out of it, as the official wiki gave the impression that Aradin would show up as long as you didn’t dissuade or outright lie to him about the Nightsong. It’s not that big a deal, since it doesn’t really affect the outcome of the quest in any capacity, but I won’t shutdown your offer to run more tests to confirm the specifics. Thanks for getting back to me, and let me know if you have or discover anymore information 👍💯
@Saljace4 ай бұрын
@the_revanchistlegion Oh my god I remember having to do the spawn fight like a dozen times for one or some of these videos lmao it might've included this one. Aradin's trigger might take lowest priority after all of those other long rest things so tbh I'd just go till you hit two maybe three nights of nothing because when I did the whole Nightsong Act 3 arc, I got to the point where I'd make sure no one else wanted a piece of my Tav before talking to Adarin for the first time so I wouldn't go insane trying to record. I know *passing* any of the skill checks in his conversation locks you out but I don't remember if there's a route to just not have one and pretty much goad him into trying his luck against a whole ass aasimar. Doing that would not lock you out as far as continuity goes since this level 8 dude in Act 3 obviously thinks he's got what it takes lol. I'm going to bed now but I'll run through it for you whenever it is that I get up again lol
@Saljace4 ай бұрын
@@the_revanchistlegion Okay, so I had a save the morning before Aradin was going to attack camp and told Aylin about the bounty and she flew off and then long-rested and Aradin did not show up. Did two nights to be sure and yeah I'm sure you won't see him again, unless he's hiding somewhere in Act 3 which I could never find.
@the_revanchistlegion4 ай бұрын
@@Saljace All righty, that makes sense. I appreciate you testing it out for me. I’m going to go back a couple of saves to see if I can get it to trigger, because I noticed that I missed the interaction where you warn Aylin specifically about Aradin hunting her, which you showed at 6:59. I’ll edit this comment and let you know what the results turn out to. Thanks again mate 🤘💯 Edit: So, I did four rests again and still no results. This time I didn’t speak to Lorroakan or tell Nightsong about him specifically since I knew she would leave camp to fight him if I did, but did pick the line that overtly mentioned Aradin. I completely ignored Halsin the first rest so the night would be uneventful, yet he didn’t show; not even Mizora triggered, so there was no excuse. The second rest was Mizora, who I flat out rejected, but still Aradin didn’t show. The following two rests were the same as before, with the doppelgänger and those Vampire creatures showing up, and I chose not to do a fifth rest because I didn’t feel like fighting the aforementioned Vampires (there were at least four of them, and I got annoyed & impatient 😒). So, I reckon you were right earlier about the problem being that I didn’t fail the deception check(s), because it doesn’t make sense for him not to have spawn in otherwise.

Is there a way to actually find Aradin again if you choose the "I haven't been paid yet" option? Or is it some remnant of the cut content?
@Saljace Жыл бұрын
ooh, I forgot to check that I'll do that now
@Saljace Жыл бұрын
Okay, I checked if you told him "I haven't been paid" and just waited a few nights after doing nothing and he does not show up. I also tried siding with Lorroakan and getting paid, and he still has not shown up on any of the following nights. Also tried going back to Rivington camp to see if the different region would trigger it, but it didn't. I have not the slightest idea where this dude is away from the tower. He has a key for your room when you kill him after getting a room in the Elfsong Tavern. I'm assuming he got it to hunt you down as he does not have the key if you kill him at the tower. The key he does have on him (I think called "Aradin's key") was for the chest back in the Druid's Grove, if I'm not mistaken.
