The somewhat common notion amongst the masses of a researcher coming up with solutions from the ground up, completely secluded and isolated from the rest of the World, is just not true. This comment was made possible by Squarespace. Squarespace is the absolute easiest way to make your website. I've used them for a few different sites. I basically bought that domain to be sure nobody else could. I didn't really have the time or need to create a fancy website, so I just spent about 15 minutes to throw together a landing page. It was incredibly easy with the Squarespace template and, in my opinion at least, it looks great. Now I can give people one link that takes them to a page with the link to all my different social media profiles. You can really create a landing page like this, a blog, a store, really anything with Sqaurespace and what's best is that you can get 10% off your first order by using the code "monke" over at squarespace.com/MenacingMonke. That also helps you help the message. So please do go check out Squarespace at squarespace.com/MenacingMonke or text 500-500 to monke.

Calling yourself a “problem” because you are “taking up space” is a dangerous thought. My youngest cooking media memory is of Rachael Ray, pushing that narrative of “taking up space” is just not good for anyone, instead pushing for more woman to get invested and take passion in cooking and video editing instead of making males who want to get into this feeling as if they are an issue.
@saquist3 жыл бұрын
Calling any one a "problem" including yourself for taking up space, in an environment brimming with space and opportunity is needlessly self sacrificial. In some cases this could be person who is attempting gesticulate or manifest their moral integrity in an outwardly obvious display or is used to pattern of self denigration.
@ileutur68633 жыл бұрын
@Kyle This isn't a leftist idea. Its an idea born from post modern american identity politics. The idea of privilege, taking up space, race and gender discourse. None of it exists outside of the USA and a few western European countries, no one cares about it.
@aranisles82923 жыл бұрын
It is dangerous, that's the correct way to describe it. He denigrates his own value as a person with something to offer. Pure self-hatred. He is telling white males they don't deserve to exist, that they should step aside and let women take over. Which is extremely patronizing to women, as if they are not capable of doing anything unless men 'help them by sacrificing themselves on the altar of 'equity'. This is a poison wrought by off the rails feminism. In the end, though, he doesn't really believe a word of it. Otherwise, he'd delete his channel right away.
@petrmaly90873 жыл бұрын
It is of course wrong, but it is a defence mechanism against the woko haram crowd (the cancel culture radicals) that sees anything as problematic. How dangerous it is not to virtue signal? Well: Do you remember the "coolest monkey in the jungle" kid controversy? A black kid was wearing a hoodie with that text during a photoshoot and internet mob called it racist. When his mother said she doesn't see it as a racist thing, she had to be rescued from her own house with her family because a crowd of "anti-racists" came there and attacked this black woman. They had to move to a safe house. Clothing stores were looted because of this. There are incidents like this and there is no wonder people with such a wide audience are scared for their lives.
@amrus35503 жыл бұрын
I think "video editing" is a key factor here. I would even say "the" key factor. So the question is the same as asking "Why are there more male video editors, programmers, and gamers than female?", which is a tough one. On a different platform which doesn't favor videos shot with high quality equipment and good video editing I imagine women are not at a disadvantage at all.

As a Swedish soldier a lot of my issued clothing are wool or wool-cotton blends. Wool has a lot of very interesting qualities that synthetics just don't replicate well, the firstmost being that it remains warm even when wet. Do we leave that to youtubers to police their own comments? Because if that's the case, I can't see anyone getting much else done. How can we support the safety of women in youtube?

I get a better outcome if I use merino wool, this is also often called "baby wool" in my country because it usualy does not irritate a baby's sensitive skin. Wool is naturally antimicrobial and moisture wicking. It's said to retain 80% of its insulating ability when wet. For cold weather outdoor pursuits it is said that cotton kills. When cotton gets wet it loses nearly all insulating capability and takes ages to dry. This can rapidly lead to hypothermia. As for the itchiness, it irritates some more than others. Many modern wools are very soft. As for antimicrobial, I've switched to using wool work socks exclusively. Foot health has improved dramatically. They're much more comfortable. You're not taking up space on a platform when the platform has infinite space. So, this really isn't the issue. I think KZbin has more male viewers that enjoy viewing men. Men are more typically disagreeable compared to women and YT comments are less likely to negatively affect men. Women women are more likely to take the comments seriously and personally. Combine that with anonymity where people are less filtered and more mean, and that would cause women to be much less likely to be represented among creators.

FYI: Because of that scratchiness, wool has a lot of interlocking microscopic fibers, much like down, so it has something like a 40-50% heat-retention factor when wet. As a comparison, I believe cotton is something like -30-0% wet-heat-retention factor (meaning it cools you when wet). There are synthetics that have similar or better factors, but that's a modern invention and historic tradition has a way of maintaining hold. And, wool is renewable and for many people, crucially not made of synthetic, plastic fibers like fleece and neoprene. There's a saying in Boy Scouts: Cotton Kills. When we went camping, our scoutmasters would literally have us tip out our packs and would send us home if we didn't have non-cotton wet-weather gear.

I will definitely say the algorithm is initially biased towards people who look like Ragusea. But as SOON as you click on someone outside of that mold, the algorithm instantly changes who it shows you. I watch reaction channels, and as soon as I clicked on someone waaaay down the list of recc's on my search quary, it showed me people I had never seen with decent followings who had been doing it for YEARS and yet I had never seen them. So as a user, I try to go out of my way to watch people who don't fit the standard 'mold' doing things I enjoy.

As a man, it's kind of telling that a pretty common insult is to have your masculinity questioned, because, ultimately, femininity/adjacency to it is the real insult.
@radzilla7483 жыл бұрын
Same thing with women who prefer short hair or some form of bodybuilding. And i suppose it's just boils down to nobody wanting that kinda of misidentification.
@llamzrt3 жыл бұрын
This is just a tautology. Of course questioning someone's masculinity is the same thing as implying femininity. Nothing is "telling" about this.
@ToveriJuri3 жыл бұрын
What is telling about it? If you are the average man masculinity is what you identify with. Questioning it is indeed and insult. You would probably find question a trans man's masculinity an insult so why wouldn't it be insulting to question regular (statistically) man's masculinity? On the other hand if you go to a woman who heavily identifies with femininity and tell her she looks like a man. It's going to be insulting to her.

you could do an entire video on tomatoes(if you haven't already). As a former produce worker, I know the grocery store varieties are literally picked too early to be ripe, and "ripen" via transport/surface ripening via gases. So they don't develop the proper flavors. I can attest that shipped heirlooms just get destroyed. We used to try to carry them, but they would just be 90% destroyed by the time we got them to the shelf.

There are a lot of "cooking channels" with women. There are barely any nerdy food science channels with women. It's just a difference in inclination between both genders.
@supernova6223 жыл бұрын
A difference in inclinations? Can you elaborate what you mean by that?
@tooth6563 жыл бұрын
@@supernova622 Example: women tend to be more interested in humanities and relational aspects while men tend to be more interested in the technical aspect to things. It doesn't mean ALL women, but it does describe a tendency. There are also enough differences between most male and female brains (neural and gray/white matter distribution) to predict with high certainty whether the brain belongs to a man or a woman. There are also morphological, hormone, physiological, and other psychological differences between both sexes that contribute to such inclinations.

while calling adam gay isn't right or funny he certainly is not without criticism he has multiple times engaged with comment in aggressive ways such as when he told someone to f**k themselves because they made a joke about his stove and when internetshaquille said calm down he responded like a gym douche "you want some too", so while some of the insults are over the top he does cause a lot of those "trolls" himself with how he handles his online persona,

Wool, unlike cotton, can keep you warm even when it gets wet. Synthetic textiles can do the same but they can be “stained” with odors and are derived from petroleum, which some people don’t like.
