A year late, but I am in love at first sight with this throw!! ❤I just stumbled upon BonnieBayCrochet through the FATW3 CAL. I didn't fall in love with that particular pattern, but found this page along the way thanks to KZbin's suggestions. I also saw more of your designs that I am eager to work up. You have a new fan!! 😃

So excited to be starting a new project. Couple ?s. For the trim around each block do you use the same color as the block? Also do you have a picture of the finished project? Thanks....

Bonnie ... what is the multiple for this pattern? What a beautiful throw this will make. TYVM!
@BonnieBayCrochet7 жыл бұрын
This stitch is a multiple of 4 plus 2 (for beginning and ending the row). It is simply a multiple of 4 when working in the round.

Beautiful work! Can't wait to get started! However, I'm curious to know how many squares do you get from a skein of the RSS yarn? I'm assuming that a finished square is 12 inches. So, I was wondering if I should buy the jumbo size as I need 30 squares to complete my afghan.
@BonnieBayCrochet7 жыл бұрын
The finished squares are 14" square. I have been getting just under 2 squares per 1 regular skein of RH SuperSaver.

Thank you for this im enjoyable video i have a question please you said make 4, do i do 4 the same colour or difficult colours? Tia x
@BonnieBayCrochet7 жыл бұрын
That's a great question! Personally I will be making 4 squares in the same color. However, you do have the option of making each square a different color if you wish. I think it could be very interesting to use 20 different colors, but I just didn't have as many colors (of the same type of yarn) as that in my stash. This will also take some more thought when combining them in a pleasing way. Some crocheters are making this a true stash-buster and only drawing from yarn on hand. Others are using only one color for the entire throw. Please feel the freedom to be as creative as you would like!

I just noticed that 30 folks have been able to download this pattern. You may have to set up a Ravelry account, which is free. Please give that a try and let me know if you need more help.

Thank you Bonnie, I signed into Ravelry as you suggested and got the printed pattern, but your video was so detailed I made the square by watching the video,. The printed pattern will be helpful when I am out and about with my crochet. Thank you for taking the time to repsond to me.

Good morning Bonnie, I have started this pattern, an following your video at the beginning you said we should have 10 cables across, which I did, however at the end when you showing us how to do the border stitch you said you have done the 25 rows an have 12 cables across. please where did I miss have pulled it out an will start again after rewatching. many thanks.
@BonnieBayCrochet7 жыл бұрын
Hi Sonja! This square should have 10 cables across, and 12 cables deep (or in columns), giving you 25 rows. Row 1 is the foundation row of half-double crochets, and then 12 repeats of Rows 2 & 3. I hope this is helpful!
@sonjabirch85837 жыл бұрын
Thank you Bonnie, yes that has cleared it up for me, many thanks for your quick response. I love your work, an love your book of Celtic crochet, bought it on Amazon.

I will try to get this up in my new LoveCrafts.com store in the next day or two Jessica. This pattern was lost (due to a computer dying last year) but has been recovered this past week. Thanks for the nudge to get this done.

Just to update my last message, I have uploaded this pattern to www.lovecrafts.com/en-us/search-v2?q=bonnie+barker. It may take a day or so for it to appear in my store, but should be there soon. Sorry about the delay.

One o5her thing can you give us the information on the brand (Are they all red heart super saver)and the names of the colors as well?
@beverleyfisher84977 жыл бұрын
Hi Bonnie... Im almost finished one square but have a question before i continue. The written pattern says I should have 10 beginning cables across. The video says 12 so I don't want to start another if I have mine done wrong. I think according to the stitch count there should be 10 but need to confirm before continuing. Thanks Bev
@BonnieBayCrochet7 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the confusion Beverley! You are correct, there are 10 cables across, but 12 vertically in the 25 rows.
@kimburgess93647 жыл бұрын
Hi Bonnie. I always look at the video before I start these crochet along. My question is...your making 4 squares each...how many skeins of each color are needed for 4 squares?
@BonnieBayCrochet7 жыл бұрын
This really all depends upon which yarn you choose to use. I estimate between 190 - 200 yards per square, depending upon your personal crocheting style and gauge. If using Red Heart's Supersaver (364 yards per skein), you will need just over 2 skeins to complete these 4 squares. This project works well as a "stash buster" where you can use up any worsted weight yarn you have available. I personally will be using 3 different brands of yarn making this project. Feel free to be as creative as you like with the variety of colors. You can make each square a different color if you choose.

BonnieBayCrochet I like your colors. Please tell what they are first carrot and chocolate right? What are the others You are using

Thank you for another great crochet along! Now I'm looking forward to finishing the Aran Hearts throw so I can unravel this mystery!! I do have a question I hope you can clarify. I understand Rows 2 and 3, no problem. But on row 4, in your first "set", it appears when you're making the 2 front post trebles in the skipped stiches, you are going around the treble posts from row 2 and not the double crochet from row 3. Am I seeing that right or wrong? I guess what I'm asking is, in row 4, do you front post treble around the double crochet from row 3 or the treble crochet from row 2? Sorry, I hope that's not confusing. 😊
@BonnieBayCrochet7 жыл бұрын
That's a great question! I am working the front post trebles around the previous row, which would be the row of back post double crochets.
@christianwarrioracademy48937 жыл бұрын

Sorry...it should be for a confident beginner?? I crochet more throws, enjoyed it very much, but here..you're losing me slowly in row 3 and I'm completely lost in row 4.. kind of frustrating. I never managed celtic wave either, no mather how I try. I am curious to see how this throw will look though, even if I can't do it.
@marjonvrensen92847 жыл бұрын
Sorry, it should be 2 and 3, not 3 and 4 And as usual, I'll keep trying😋
@BonnieBayCrochet7 жыл бұрын
Marjon Vrensen so sorry you are having trouble with this stitch. I do t have a finished throw to show you right now. That is what makes this a mystery throw. If you watch for video 6 later in February, it will be available. Blessings...

Marjon Vrensen I am a confident beginner as well. It took me two days to finally get this stitch down. I was determined not to give up. I think you can do it! I just finished my first square. It took me about 3 days. It is beautiful! 😉 Good luck....
@marjonvrensen92847 жыл бұрын
Diane Crumbley thank you so much for your kind words. I already decided to push through, and it payed off. It's so nice to know we're all crochet together🌻
@BonnieBayCrochet7 жыл бұрын
Dear Marjon, So sorry to hear that this is giving you trouble. There is a leaning curve for each of these cables, so you may need to give yourself some time to process these stitches. The Celtic Weave is more of an intermediate stitch, but I have personally taught this and the other stitches to confident, and even "not so confident" beginners. That doesn't mean that the stitch is learned in only one exposure. I truly wish you the very best. Grace, Bonnie Barker BonnieBayCrochet.com
