If you speak Portuguese especially the one spoken in Brazil it becames even easier for you to understand Galician than someone who speaks the Portuguese spoken in Lisbon. The accent is much closer to Brazilian Portuguese. If you have to pay a lot of attention in order to understand the lyrics in this "medieval cantiga" it is because is sung in an archaic Galician which makes a little difficult even for someone who speaks Galician.

The Galician is close to Portuguese because the Portuguese comes from Lusitanian, Ancient Portuguese which is just from the Galician! Take a look on History and Geography and the truth will be present in front of all. Circa 1149 AD Portugal was founded as independent nation, split of Galicia, southern region.

Bem interessante. Achei que lembra muito a base de um heavy metal - sem as distorções nas guitarras. Como tanto a música medieval medieval quanto os riffs de guitarras distorcidas costumam se basear em intervalos de quinta para formar a harmonia, pode ser daí que noto a semelhança.
