Why pleasing God is better than pleasing the world? (Satsangh)

The goal of pleasing God through actions is the best one we can probably have. God is often considered as a hard task-master because He/She is a perfectionist. However, there is a very important difference between how God judges us and how Man judges us. That difference clearly shows why it is easier to please God. The same difference also makes us understand the meaning of the statement - "All are equal in the eyes of God."
But should I choose to please God simply because it is easier to do that over pleasing the world? No! The greatest benefit of doing things to please God is the supreme peace that develops in our heart. This happens because of an important perspective-difference that doing things for God brings in.
With a couple of personal experiences and a couple of other student experiences, this talk focuses on why and how can one please God. This is a talk delivered in the Satsangh Hall in Prasanthi Nilayam on 19th February, 2015.

Very profound message sairam... I know how swamy ,seeing just the effort showers HIS grace... Recently I had one such experience. Swamy had instructed me to chant ' Aruna Prasnam' daily in the morning.. It was quite an effort to include it in my morning schedule but I was so happy chanting, as it was HE who had asked me to do.. after few days ( had started on 3rd and this happened on 8th ) as I was chanting, I was thinking of feb 14th and as to what I should sing specially for swamy apart from 'Hum ko tumse'....I asked swamy to give me some special song which I can sing on that day..and as I was telling HIM, realised that He was giving me a Gayathri..I told him wait as I was in the middle of chanting ..finished it bursting with anticipation.. and He gave me a beautiful Sathyasai Gayathri..With swamy's blessings,would love to share it with all ..It goes like this.. " OM..PREMA ROOPAAYA VIDHMAHE, HRIDHAYA NIVASAAYA DHIMAHI THANNOH SATHYASAI PRACHODAYAT " Just swamy's grace for the little effort...and I spent almost entire day of 14th chanting this gayathri.. and continue to do so.. JSR !

I just want to share my experience which happened today. I was getting tensed as my exam is coming near. I just closed my eyes and prayed to Swami. Then I opened KZbin to listen my lecture, then this video titled "WHY PLEASING GOD IS BETTER THAN PLEASING WORLD?" which you have uploaded 3 years back pop up on the KZbin, then I thought it was because I used to see your videos so that it pop up on my home tab of KZbin. After few seconds I thought maybe it was my Swami who wanted me to listen to that video. For confirmation I refreshed my youtube 2 times. All the other videos are keep changing except this satsang. Then I fixed to listen that video. I was astonished after listening to that satsang because in that video you disclosed an incident where someone wanted you to speak to students who are preparing for their exams, but the students had exam fear, then you enquired the students about their reason for fear, it was because they are worrying about their results. After listening to that I was literally astonished because I'm also going through the same situation like those students. And then you said a line which Swami told "Do your best, I'll take care of the rest". That sentence made boosted me and made me so happy. And some other points which you disclosed in that satsang which helped me to get rid of my exam tension are you said, "Swami will see the efforts which we put in into any work, not the results". That 1 hour satsang really made my day and boosted my confidence. Also I want to share this thing in one of your satsangs you said about the app answers from Swami. After listening to that I downloaded it and the answer Swami gave was 1) Study well with concentration 2) Do your best I'll take care the rest 3) "I'll take care of 'that" Like these there are so many small small incidents happened to me because of your satsangs and our love towards Swami. Thank you brother. Your satsangs mean a lot to us. May our love towards Swami should always grow.

Sairam..you spoke on a very important topic relevant for present times. I have over the realised that the two words intention and effort are key to happiness here and here after. Prayojanam and purushartham in Sanskrit. We start rituals by saying Parameshwara preetyartham and end by saying Narayanaeti Samapayami. The phalam is according to His sweet will. Sairam.

This is an interesting but a complicating or rather difficult topic which you have handled very beautifully quoting multiple experiences directly with Swamy! Swamy has given us the guidelines to simplify our lives and practise them wherever we are Listening to Satsangs and encouraging the younger generation to attend EHV classes and to involve in service activities have some influence no doubt ! But when you remind simple values like wasting food water and money it is being misunderstood as interference and not as guidance ! In situations like that instead of getting hurt you carry on as you have so eloquently expressed we should be happy that we are pleasing God and make Him Happy and this is one step towards transformation !
