This song is more relevant with each day passing.

There's actually an updated cover of this very song published around the 2008 crash. That piece is called "Marching Jobless Corps" they use the English first for modern lyrics with the same melody, then halfway through, they belt out the Yiddish. As soon as I heard it o had a "hol' up" moment

The great power of the worker is best manifested by them sitting down and refusing to work. The world then stops turning.

The singer has a German accent and is pronouncing the words how they would be in German rather than Yiddish, or otherwise replacing certain words with their German cognates, so this isn't the most authentic recording of this song.

One, two, three, four, we are the unemployed, not heard for months in the Factory the hammer sound. they lie in cold, forgotten, the rust will eat them, let's walk around the alley, like important people, idling around, like important people idling around. One, two, three, four, we are the unemployed, without clothes, without a home, our bed is earth and mud, if someone still has something to eat, you ration every bite, water, like what the rich people do with wine, we pour into ourselves, we pour into ourselves.
