My GF started selling Arbonne 2 years ago. I've tried being supportive and buying some products which are actually delightful. However the demand of all of her time and energy eventually lead to our break up after 9 years. It really is like a cult and once she was looped in with all the "love and support" of her upline and team she had no time and energy for our relationship. We were once best friends but she slowly shut me out over time as her team kept reinforcing to keep grinding and reaching out to SO MANY PEOPLE and with such positivity and inspiring stories she wanted to keep believing great things are just beyond the horizon. I felt completely replaced as she become closer to her team than she was with me. I was crushed when we broke up but after seeing this im thinking it was probably for the best. Thank you!!

Sorry to read this and I'll bet that these kind of experiences felt by the partners of Huns are tip of the iceberg (or perhaps more accurately, the pyramid) with regards to the toxic ripple effect felt by others around them. One of my Facebook friends (who I've admittedly not seen in many years) joined Arbonne towards the end of 2020 and to say that there has been a big change in the frequency and content of her posts would be an understatement. Endless, cringey 'Fabulous Me' statements, pictures of her grinning inanely whilst holding a glass of something ever-so-healthy, videos announcing a search for 'business partners'... I hold out hope that these eventually, without any grand explanation just stop and indicate she has quietly seen sense.

my aunt is in the top 1% of this company which is so cool for her; she gets paid vacations, genuinely is filthy rich, and she’s been in the car program for over five years HOWEVER she literally has zero deep and meaningful relationships, her kids are distant with her bc she used them for marketing, my uncle considers her to mostly be a roommate, at family gatherings she pitches products and tried to recruit us, and i’ve never seen her taking a break to just be content and in the moment :( it’s sad to see bc on the surface level and within the mlm she’s basically a goddess but her life seems really hollow once you spend a bit of time with her

I’ve been an esthetician for over 20 years and I 100% agree with you about one size skin care. Every skin is different and my clients get educated about products and more importantly ingredients. Some things can be contradictory to certain types of skin types or conditions. Some people may have dehydrated skin, but they just assume they have dry skin. Sometimes it’s necessary to treat different areas on the face independently because they have completely different needs

I'm super anti MLM but I have to say that Arbonne used to have the best skincare I've ever used and I've tried it all! I say "used to" because they "improved" the formula of the RE9 series, and it is sh*t. My daughter, who's in her twenties, got me into it when I saw that her skin was clear of acne and fine lines. We used the same line and the improvement in my skin was remarkable. They had several skincare series at the time, so they must have merged them into one since? The consultant tried hard to put me in her downline. I felt kinda bad for her. Glad I won't be spending another dime on that stuff.

I didn’t take the time to watch this video but the comments caught my eye and seem to prove lack of education. Firstly, you do NOT have to spend money on products you’re not using for yourself in order to have an Arbonne business. Secondly, not sure if you’ve strayed from the catalog for the last half decade but there are many skincare options. Arbonne actually educates their consultants and clients on what line to use for the skin type you are and benefits you’re looking for. Lastly, as far as “staying in their lane” and being “legit”, that’s Arbonne. Transparent since day 1 in 1980, core values never changing, and always making more efforts towards sustainability and being good FOR the earth. You’re right, it’s nothing like those makeup companies on the retail shelves, thank goodness! ❤

I know someone who does arbonne, she is the regional manager and made it sound like the company bought her the car. She was posting all about how she couldn't decide what color g wagon she wanted, but came back with a Cadillac..now that you explain the program that is so wild. She posts that sticker on her window alllll the time. She manages a local coffee shop and hands out arbonne samples to customers for free and then posts nearly everyday her getting a new customer. She goes on all these trips, domestic and international, brining her boyfriend or a friend. I swear every post has to do with arbonne and how its the best decision she's ever made. Even getting a nutrition certification to 'prove' that she's selling the best products you can find. I always got a bad feeling about the company and her posts seemed off to me cause she's always boasting how good of an impact she's making on the community through 'her business'.

I joined arbonne years ago as thought it sounded fun, however the constant pressure to recruit sucked all of that out of it. I also felt I was being asked to change my personality to fit the brand. I’m a sarcastic Brit who swears too much and I was told I couldn’t post anything on social media that wasn’t like ‘wholesome’…. Basically no funny memes or piss taking of any kind. After that I was like nope this ain’t for me! I did like some of the products, however I’ve found products that give the same results that are no where near the price. Also, the make up is awful! Cakey, doesn’t blend well and would constantly go off all the time.

My family member who’s been with the company for over 12 years has never gotten above the 3rd level of rep, even though she’s worked her butt off. She’s a genuinely caring and ethical person, so I don’t think she (thankfully) has what it takes to go far in an MLM. But I feel for her with all the work she’s put into it. Some of the products I’ve tried are good, but not for the money, even with her discount.
@Skye-n5q
@Skye-n5q 4 күн бұрын
It's the ethical part that's the problem. I truly believe you have to sacrifice your ethics to rank up to the top because the way to truly get as many people signed up is to take advantage of desperate and vulnerable people. Even if I wanted to, I could never do an MLM cos I'd be like "nah actually you're probably better off saving that money because you only have an under 1% chance of achieving the dream I'm selling you, and a 99% chance of losing money. Still wanna join? Pls don't 🙃"

So. I was with Arbonne for a few months - straight up cult when you look at the convention. It was enforced A LOT - but not an obligation - to buy 2500$ CA of products when you sign on. Because the model was: we give you a pouch of products for a few days so you try them before returning and listening to our sell/recruiting pitch. And because there are 3 levels of prices (retail, vip clients and rep), a lot of people join just for the lowest price. Which is not happening at doTerra (in which I was for almost 2 years, before I realized how much all of the MLMs were cultish scams.

MLMs make me LOL. Every time! Reps with no legit marketing experience, suddenly identify themselves as marketing experts. Or at least hail to their illustrious next level up leader as some kind of marketing expert. I've actually attended a couple of these "info sessions" pre-pandemic to a) provide moral support for a friend and b) get me some reality show type entertainment. Aside from the financial scam they all get sucked into, the other thing I find super gross and scary is the psychological imprint they make on these reps. Like you said, it's predatory. A friend of mine who was (maybe still is) an Arbonne rep, tried to get me to buy the first kit, to which I told her that I don't think it's worth my time or money. To which her FIRST response was: Do you trust me? ....Ya. That's when you know how strong their psych ops game is. (cue the horror film music)

However, I do like some of their products and purchase them on an annual basis. I’m super glad to live in the UK (not a sentence I thought I’d write) because MLMs aren’t really that big here. Sure, some of the common ones exist, like Avon or Arbonne or Younique, but you barely ever hear anything about them! I think the lack of a solid MLM culture here speaks to our generally more reserved approach to interacting with others and the fact that we don’t grow up with religion pushed upon us in the same evangelical ways that are common in the USA. We keep ourselves to ourselves, and that’s not to say we’re cold or antisocial - we’re just a lot less likely to believe someone making bold claims. I cannot imagine living in a place where every other person is in some kind of MLM! It’s insane to me!

It's late, but i just wanted to say that my good friend was in arbonne, really sweet girl, but she was willing to lend me CAD 200+ for me to sign up, because she sincerely believed in the company. (I had a fracture on my foot and i was on leave from work for at least 3 mos so I had no extra money.) I was wondering what was going through her head. I bought a few things of makeup to support my friend. Though that maybe not helping her at all. BTW this happened pre-covid.

Why on earth anyone would join an MLM in this day and age with the plethora of evidence proving the business model only supports the top tier is beyond me. The huns on here in the comments are trying so hard to defend the product when it's not the product that doesn't work ( for some?) It's the business model itself but they can't or won't see that. I wish them all well and hope they don't lose everything due to a business that isn't looking out for their best interest.

This really fascinated me. A few years ago the skincare clinic I went to upsold me some Arbonne peoducts for gut health etc. Since they were professionals I trusted them and went ahead with buying the product. Eventually I stopped going to the clinic because they kept trying to upsell me things and today I found out that the product they sold me is related to an MLM. Feeling very odd and kinda taken advantage of? But I am glad I learned this!

Thank you Hannah for this! I have been in Arbonne for years. Yes at the beginning i drank the kool-aid and believed i can one day earn that car... I'm no where near that. And to be honest, it doesn’t interest me. I joined bc of the skincare when the re9 was out and was actually one I loved. I often would get breakout with various other products. But they kept pushing more the health products like the shakes, and I not a fanu of any protein shakes. I still sell it but that's cause I have a few customers who like specific products and I'm fine with that. Ive been watching a bunch of uour videos and im cringing bc ive heard all these things and other companies say. I say if people like the products, use yhe products, great. But I'm not the type to lie and say it's changing my life financially. Soo scammy. Thank you for the laughs!!! I am enjoying this content.

I signed up and a few days I get a call from her saying that I won. I ordered my product and meet her again in person. I almost signed up under her. Thank the lord I didn't🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏.It took soo long to get my product. She would always make excuses on why she can't send me the products in the mail. I got soo mad and emailed customer service and told them what happened. I told her what I did she sent me my products in the mail. They were expired already. I never ever talked to her again. I am 30 years old now. I thank the good lord 🙏 that I never joined this company. She tried to used the fact that you can earn a Mercedes if you join arbonne and work hard to get me to sign up. She’s driven a G Wagon since at least 2016… 2020 happens, she joins arbonne and switches to a white car and all of a sudden she owes her entire life to arbonne. So annoying. I also like to point out that she grew up in a wealthy family and then married a wealthy man.. I’m not discrediting her hard work in other parts of her life, but she’s never not had money to “take the chance” and “go all in”

Do they actually say to have the car buying get together AT the dealership? Hahahah I wouldn’t be surprised if Arbonne was getting kickbacks from Mercedes for having their consultants have these get togethers and get more people in the door seeing their cars, and if they are, it isn’t even Arbonne paying that portion of your car payment it would be Mercedes’ at that point. Then when you don’t make your sales they just get to keep the money they would have sent the consultant. So even when the consultant fails they gain, the money the consultant doesn’t bring in is partially replenished by the car payment they wouldn’t cover and the consultant is double screwed for not making their normal commission and having to pay extra for their car.

Oh the free car BS. Many jobs in IT give their employees access to company cars. Company I work for is not really in IT but similar enough. I got a company car on my first day, obviously car isn’t mine but I get to use it as I please with respect towards the traffic rules. I didn’t have to take out any loans, I don’t have pay any insurance or maintenance. Also I get a fuel card from work so also that expense is taken care of. Now let’s compare it any MLM and their free cars. They only get an opportunity to go into debt by buying car that I can’t really choose, sometimes it also has to have the logo of the company, they pay for everything on their own and they only get a small cash bonus to put towards the car payment. Doesn’t sound like a free car to me. 🙄
