In this video we are checking out one of my favorite entry-level snowboards, the Arbor Formula. I am testing the Arbor Formula Camber, although this is the first year they are offering this board in both rocker and camber so you have the option to go rocker if you'd like. In this snowboard you're going to find a directional twin shape that rides and feels like a twin on hard packed snow, but will offer extra float in powder thanks to the extra length in the nose outside of the contact points. You'll also find a versatile mid flex with Arbor's Grip Tech sidecut, that is going to offer traction, stability, and solid performance in pretty much any conditions you find yourself in. To top it off this board comes in at an amazing price point, and is a great board to start off with if you are looking for something that is affordable, easy to control, and really is capable of doing it all. I have the Formula Rocker. It’s very forgiving and great for learning to intermediate. I ride where most people do, on the groomed areas. I got a end of season deal on it and It’s been great board. Definitely recommend it.

What is the difference between the Arbour Foundation and the Arbour Formula? I am 44 and a complete beginner who wants to learn because my son is into snowboarding. Which of these boards do I start with?

I just ordered a foundation, and was wondering the same thing... the formula can be different if it's the camber profile but the differences from the formula rockered and the foundation are (according to arbor's site): 1) the formula has a "Hand Dyed Ash Power Ply Inlay". 2) The formula is a 4/10 flex and the foundation is a 3/10. I haven't been able to find any other differences between them in writing at least and I haven't tried either yet. Can't wait to get down on my new board though! Cheers

Hey TJ, which boards would you say this is most similar to? (Cam version...or both, if you're feeling ambitious!). That sort of feedback helps me make sure I'm comparing the right stuff. Seems like the Arbor Formula Camber might be a slightly less-aggressive (and less expensive) version of the Capita Mercury or the Jones Aviator?

Which one is better camber or rocker? And Why?

Personally I used to ride a rocker and I was super into freestyle riding in the park, I started riding a lot more free riding on the mountain and back woods and I prefer a camber for that because I feel i have more control of my turns. That's just my opinion though, all depends on what type of riding you plan on doing and what you feel more comfortable on.

No Arbor only makes either full rocker or full camber snowboards. They are a parabolic profile though that gets more mellow the closer you get to the tips, but still full rocker or full camber from contact point to contact point.
