Yeaaah finally and earlier than I thought XD Thank you so much for this review ! Now I know it's almost the board I want with too much troubles to get it... if it was just giving misleading information by being blurry but gripped well on groomers with a good commitment, giving some constant fear but just for fun because in fact we can trust it, it would be my thing. That's unfortunate as almost everything else sounds good to me. I love that energetic "powder skate" spirit you describe, I like boards with unique personality, but I need carving joy. So I'll wait to see if Arbor corrects its groomer behavior with the next version (sounds like it needs a lot more fine tuning...), or, as I can't decide, just go with the first of the holly trilogy that will have a good discount (Basic Uninc, Mountain Twin and Indoor Survival) and be happy until Arbor gets this one carvy enough. I did well waiting for your review. :) Thanks again !

Sorry it took so long and thanks for the good words. I think the lifted tech on medium to hard groomers can work if you get used to it. If you want a similar feel to the Satori but with a pretty aggressive carving personality check the Weston Hatchet. It's super wide though. The Jones Mind Expander Twin, Spring Break Pow Twin, YES Warca, Ride Twin Pig or Cardiff Lynx Might work too.

The "more nose than tail" issue is funny because it happened to me before and I know what happens here: If you are completely centered, but you have more angle on the front foot, your front foot toe is actually closer to the nose than your rear foot toe is to the tail. So yeah, at least at FS turns, you´ll have a bit more of tail than nose. Weird huh? I realized this when one day at the bar I was looking at my board and I was like, WTF, it can't be possible because I used a measure tape. The reason is that my stance has changed through the years, but I still like true harcdcore twins as all mountain boards, especially for my job, And I always liked to be centered unless for powder boards for obvious reasons. When I started, more than 30 years ago, I was positive in both feet, then I became a park rat and my stance was 15, -15 (which also gives the illusion of having more angle on the rear foot and can drive you crazy lol). Now that I am older I barely go to the park, I still like freestyle but in grromers or in pow runs, but I also like speed and carving, and having a wide angle on your front foot helps a fkg lot, especially for bs turns. So through the years I opnened my front foot angle more and more, closing the rear foot's (still negative, but -12 or even -9 sometimes), while still being centered on true twin boards. We have to keep this in mind because the board has got contact points, but our feet, especially our toes, are strong pressure points, so I think that one mistake that many of us make, is to measure the binding from the center of the disc to the nose/tail, without measuring it from the true pressure point (the binding's toe). So after I noticed it, I fixed it (setting my stance a bit back, just a bit, and closing a bit my front foot angle, again, just a bit), and despite not being a huge difference, especially because I like to really really charge on the rear foot while carving, the change was noticeable. Again, not a big difference, but it was there. Again, kind of an opticall illusion but not really. I guess that true twin freestyle boards work better with symmetrical and centered stances, but the majority of pros like more angle on the front foot, so that's why they often are a bit set back even on their true twins I guess. Or I don't know, maybe all this is a lot of immense BS lol. Everyone has got their unique riding. Great review mate.

Thanks for your take but I could have saved you time if I elaborated more. When I had this feeling I rode this almost on the silver reference stance markers provided by Arbor at 15/-15 angles (toes pressure points centered) at a 21.5" stance width. So just 0.125" outside each reference stance marker. I had almost 1.25" more nose length than tail. It was just a weird feeling like there was more surface area and weight behind me than in front of me. That is why I said it was light in the nose because I made absolutely sure I wasn't forward in any way. Of the close to 1,000 boards I've tried I only felt this on the first version of the Clovis and the Satori. No I don't think what you wrote is BS. I think you have a great point and it makes perfect sense on true twins or asym twins if you ride on reference and like 18/-9. I'm actually going to elaborate on the written review and put what I wrote above in there so people understand better. Thanks!

Tried this board last year (5'10", 165lbs, US11 boot). I tried the 156(?) because they didn't have a shorter one. Wide even for me, hard to get edge to edge. No powder here in the Midwest so not really a fun time. And very heavy. Not sure if you guys had that same feeling this year.
@thegoodridesnow
@thegoodridesnow 11 ай бұрын
Thanks for your take. The 154 felt like a typical short/wide for me at 5'10", 185lbs and a Size 9 Boot. I mainly had it in powder and I'm ok with a board like that there. However, If I rode this all day n messy tracked up groomers or really tracked up pow with emerging moguls it would have been really tough to turn/control. The 154 would have been better for your specs but you would probably prefer something else for where you ride.

Hey guys, love the vids. I am ~6 feet, 175 lbs, i ride with Burton photon boots UK size 10 (290 mondo) and would classify myself as an intermediate rider. Not that much powder in Bulgaria, but we get it from time to time. Will this board be good for an all-rounder - a bit of powder (rarely more than 1 foot deep), a bit of groomers (i dont ride aggressively on them and i dont carve almost at all) and a bit of freestyle fun (ollies, pop, 180s etc). What about the 154? Cheers

@thegoodridesnow 7 ай бұрын
Thanks. I wouldn't suggest this as an all rounder because of how washy it is in hard snow. If you just want to butter and play around maybe but it's still hard to find an edge in hard snow and might not stop when you want it to. Hit me up here if you want to get into it more. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

Hey man, im 160lbs 10/10.5 boot and 6'1". I am looking for a board that can ride well in the central Canadian style hills(always groomed and often icey). I consider myself an advanced/expert rider who likes to rip fast and carv hard, but I want something that can also pop a bit, hit the pipe and jumps(no rails ever, I have a board for that) and will also allow me to instruct beginner and intermediate riders who I'll need to demonstrate simpler movements too. You are the best and thank you for your reviews.

I just won this board in an Instagram giveaway and super stoked on it but I’m from the east coast where pow days are only in my dreams, soft groomers are as good as I can get, and I mostly ride hard icey man made snow. I never complain about conditions, but am I gonna have a tough time with this board? 5’8” 175 size 8.5 boot

I don't think the board will be hard for your specs but the lifted sides will make it hard to find your edges on good groomers to hard snow. It definitely thrives more in powder and wasn't that much fun for us on groomers when it comes to turning/carving.

Size 13, 6'4" 210-225 lb range. I tried a Jones Frontier 161w last year and do not like it... felt sloppy and loose (anyone wanna buy?). My goto is a 168w Salomon w4 (over 12 years old)... feels heavy but I like the "command". Got a good rec for some boards to try next yr?

@thegoodridesnow I was looking for something lighter and more maneuverable that my 168w. I didn't realize how tech has changed to make bigger boards handle better. Additionally, my old board is full camber so cam/rocker feels very different. I'll b hitting you up for advice closer to riding season.
