This is best Battletoads game. No more damn snake puzzles, that rail cycle thing and that damn Rat Race level. Just punching, kicking and cartoonish shapeshifting Boot Kicks and hitting things with a telephone pole with concrete left on it for the entire game.

Did you beat it? There is so little out there about this game that I’m literally crawling through KZbin looking for hints. How do you do the big boot without running? And how do you attack while holding the gun (aka not firing the gun). The controls in this game are a mess unless it’s my emulation, but if that’s the case this is the 1 game out of 6500 plus on my mod.

Ilove jackingon you're right I used have a super Nintendo and used to play battles toads and battle maniacs remember when I first got it I was amazed by the graphics that was my game but definitely wouldn't have mind if they would have made it like this and I most definitely wouldn't have mind coming across this arcade game back in the day I love the original two from Nintendo and super Nintendo but this here and it clearly goes without saying this shite here make it look like a p.g. movie‼️

I can't praise the opening and first stage if this game enough. You jump right into a warzone, the music is brilliant, fits in perfectly with the chaos in the background and the fighting. I get chills, man. This feels like the gold standard.

***** Yeah, I know but one game is an exception and that would be TMNT IV: Turtles In Time. The arcade version just has them sent back through time while the SNES version has them chasing Shredder through time which makes a little more sense and rounds the game out a bit.

Gregory Black Yeah, that and the SNES version of Turtles in Time had an extra Technodrome stage and better bosses for some of the other stages. I mean, Cement Man?! Please. Slash was a WAY better choice for a boss (in whatever stage). Not to mention it's just not the same without those bumblers Bebop and Rocksteady! They two were a better choice (yeah, Tokka and Rahzer were better off as Technodrome mid-bosses).

Sadly, this would be the last game for the Battletoads. Also, this was just a stand alone in the series I think. Still sad that even I barely knew this even existed. Also both this and the NES version were release different times. NES in 1990, Battletoads Arcade in 1994.

yep, Rare said the game was a huge disappointment commercially. But it got rave reviews in that Rare Replay compilation on the Xbox 360 in 2015. It's a shame that nobody knew about this game, even people in the gaming industry. I think it's because it came out late for a beat em up. The Final Fight/Simpsons/TMNT era was done with by 1994. Fighting games were dominating and high end 3D stuff was starting to hit the market like Daytona and Virtua Fighter 2.

I am amazed how well you did in the descending level with Rash since normally he is very vulnerable after doing the heavy hit move (I usually pick Zits ´cause his move gives him temporal invincibility while executing it)
