Arcade Repair Tips - Adjusting Potentiometers Without A Knob

Hi! How do you adjust the contrast on a chasis that doesnt have a knob for that?

If your potentiometer is broken, you just need to find a replacement with the same value, desolder/remove the broken pot from the board, and insert/solder the new pot. Always a good idea to put a tiny little mark on each POT showing the position of the slot before you start. Do them all. Takes maybe 5 min.s to poke around (when things are discharged and safe) to find them all and mark them. I always, always, always, take iPhone close up and over all photos after I have marked the POTs. When I can't get things to work, I put the POTs back where they were and send the photos with the board or monitor to someone more experienced. Seems to save me money in the end.
