Twice The Mega Power hopefully they can work something out. Maybe even go the extra step and sell removable vinyls and cp overlays, similar to what they do with modern consoles. Just have the control panel covered with lucitr or lexan or whatever the popular one to use these days is, and an easy access latch or Phillips screws for ease of access. That way you could switch the look up to your favorite. Plus it's another little add-on they could sell so more money in their pocket.

I'll probably get one (Rampage/Gauntlet/Defender I suspect). The marketing video says the controls and buttons are classic arcade "quality" - for whatever that's worth in a marketing video. I have two multicades already with high quality arcade controls, including a custom built cabinet. I'm curious to see how this compares to those for quality. The price is certainly right.

I have 11 pins and 25ish arcade cabinets. The Konami and Midway mini cabs from cost co they sold 15 years ago were cheap and used old computer monitors. However the emulation and game play was perfect. Super fun playing Vs. Castlevania in a vertical mount and beating it. I still have the game board in case I ever want to re-instal in one of my generic cabs.

The three player setup for the Rampage cabinet will be pretty hard to play with. Years ago I built a 90% scale cabinet based on the Missile Command design with quick disconnects for the NES Advantage and SNES Super Advantage. Two kids are fine with the width, but two adults gets tricky to use for even Dr. Mario.

We have Scheels in the USA. It's a chain of big sporting goods stores, like Bass Pro Shop. We have a massive one in Reno with giant fish tanks that you can walk under and a massive indoor ferris wheel in tje center.

Lots of people are hyped to convert these into mame or retropie arcades. It's affordable for the cabinet and lcd to do this. Never thought Id see this happen at this price so widely available. I built a multicade under 350 with a used SF Alpha 2 but had to do a lot of research amd work to replace parts. BTW EVERYONE wants an arcade machine IMO but they don't want to spend the money or do the work. Would you pass on having XMen in its full arcade glory? I think not

Don Draper if the LCD is low lag like most gaming monitors, it will be fine. Most consumers dont want to deal with CRT. Arcade units are not easy to move around when necessary, and this is made to be more convenient for the home.

CRT are hard to come by and also they're consider illegal to manufacture is some parts of the world. CRT have weight and heat problems especially with vector games. they produce a lot of heat. CRT is obsolete these days and has gone in the way of the Dinosaurs. the may have been great but they're time has pass and technology change.

Yeah.. unfortunately. I'm glad to still have a functional Philips CRT with component and s-video outputs. It produces beautiful picture for all my retro consoles. Just hope it lasts another ten years of usage before any pinching and discoloration occurs. I wouldn't know where to take it for refurbishment. I'd be forced to adapt to flat panel displays and say goodbye to lightgun games and get used to input lag.

the 4 footers were made for use in limited space areas.. The multicarts could have up to 4 or up to 6 carts.. though the limitations on hardware on the mainboards restricted what games would woek on which machines... out in the wilds you would likely never see these games together 1941/42/43 if available were known on multi cart jammas as for street fighter I've only seen sf3 done in a multi cart and they were done in 4 formate barcade 4:3/barcade 16:9. standard 6 footer and rear projection 16:9

I heard these keep the high scores. Even when unplugged high scores which is cool. There is also a walmart exclusive Galaga and I believe Gamestop will have a space invaders one. The Street Fighter don't have the original joystick which I wish they did.

I think this is absolutely awesome. The price point tho, not so much. I love the look of the Street Fighter cabinet, but otherwise the game selection isnt really grabbing me. Really surprised theres no Mortal Kombat version, thats one of the top games I think of when I think Arcade games lol. Now what Id really like to see one of these utilized for is to bring games like Virtua Cop/House of the dead back into the home with light gun support somehow.

The company has allowed people to look at these things, but has it allowed anyone to PLAY them, and offer preliminary reports? I’m confident that they can make something that looks/sounds/moves just like the the arcade originals at the $300 price point. But I’m skeptical about the controls. The trackball in my Centipede cab has metal bearings and some real heft to it. Are we going to get that in a $300 cab or some mediocre, lightweight trackball like the one for the Atari 5200? The sturdy, professional joysticks in my Ms Pac cocktail have withstood 36 years of use and abuse without repair (I bought it used in 1990). Do you think we are going to get joystick controllers built for $10,000 machines (if you allow for inflation) in these $300 cabs? I really hope these $300 cabs contain professional controllers but I’d never dream of pre-ordering. I’m anxiously waiting for the hands on reviews.

I can see the appeal of the style, but functionally it's basically no different that getting a few cheap arcade sticks and playing games on an emulator from a laptop, which you can do for under $100. I wonder if someone already sells something like this, except blank for modders to make MAME machines.

While looking at the Wal-Mart web site, I see that there's another machine option. Galaga. Says it's a Wally exclusive and it also only has Galaxian. They could have had more classic shooters. Or, at the very least, more of the Galaga line up. (Galaga 3 & '88) Alas, these games also don't have a unique control that gives them any benefits.

If... IF these had let's say 12 iconic arcade titles included, had light up marquees and included the riser I can see paying $400 CAD (yeah they are that much in Canada) but 2-4 roms for a 3/4 cabinet and all the issues that I've read people having with these... no way. I have an old PC, two fighting sticks from the PlayStation era that i'm getting a 7 dollar USB adapter for and all I need is a cheap ass monitor to make a MAME emulation station. MDF is cheap, easy to cut and paint to make your own for next to nothing. Anyone buying these will get bored in less than a week when you can pump unlimited "coins" into the games to beat them in less than an hour and then you have a large object taking up space in your house. These are impulse nostalgia buys where your money would be better spent elsewhere. The mini classic consoles are another waste if you're not savvy enough to hack them to put hundreds of games on them. Don't be fooled by the "wow" factor, you'll regret it a week later.

TboneNYC10 Lil but hurt I see. The thing is four feet. Could weigh 1oz who gives a f. Its bulky for four games that have been emulated to shit. They should have been smaller and less money. They should be shelf pieces not a burden in a room. Although i would love to own every game cabinet in existence. Thats why I travel a ridiculous amount to visit FunSpot in NH. I lived this genre and I love it but at the same time the thing that made these Arcade games great were the Size and Artwork that grabbed your attention. Doesnt work as much now. This is niche and will be like all the others trying to cash in on nostalgia, a headache for consumers. Add shipping cost which isn't cheap on a 60lb. Item. I'm not totally against it. Its cool for certain people and I hope u get the ones u want.

Bud Dude did you even look into these cabinets and what they're claiming them to be. Arcade perfect controls and gameplay just as any 80's arcade gamer would remember for $299 in a 3/4 cab for convenience and to keep cost down.. The main reason i pre-ordered the Centipede cab. They are compact, easy to move around and reasonably priced. How can you spin this to be a bad thing idk. Sounds like you're the butthurt one tbh. May just have a bug up your arse today..happens.

Sorry, but I'd rather just get a 2 player X-Arcade stick that has a track ball in the center for $150 plus shipping, and stuff a mini AMD APU ITX PC MAME build inside of it, so I can hook it to my nice big HDTV.

Commodorefan64 I love my x-arcade, Eventually I spent about 40 or so extra bucks on it and replaced the main buttons and joysticks (though the bat top style ones were fine tbh) with Happ ones to make things fee right. They were perfectly functional, but it was jarring when going to an arcade and using one of theirs. Part of the upgrade was like 10 bucks to replace the board with a zero delay usb board from amazon. Also added a female printer style usb plug to the back to make it easier to manage the cable. Eventually I'll probably upgrade the internals to wireless so I can use it with a bit higher end machine and not be tethered to a tv or whatever. I've had it roughly 15 years or so and it still looks almost new. That thing was built like a tank.
