Just ordered from Arcade Mod Up Solely because of your review...I really would have preferred the other option but the website says they are sold out completely until July 26! I will say the LED Strip from Arcade Mod up looks sloppy and cheap and not having a Toggle switch really sucks....Oh well guess I will install it and wait on the other company for the 5 other cabs.

Marty McThirsty glad to hear you picked one up. Ideally I think the perfect marquee would be something that is a bit of a hybrid between these two brands. Both have pros and cons, and if you combine some parts and options from each it’s awesome. Maybe one of the companies will tweak their products to further improve their final products.

I have both. One advantage Mod Up has is they give you true translight graphics where as Arcade Game Factory uses Arlon paper. Imo the translight is way better.

it just daisy chains into the existing arcade1up power supply that goes from the wall outlet to the back of the lcd monitor on your existing cabinet. It's literally just plug and play.

Just got mine in from arcade mod up, and it was packaged a hell of a lot better than in the video! people must have complained! I love it except for 2 things 1) the light bleed, and 2) there's no way to turn it off, but i guess that's the tradeoff for getting in 4 days?

I got the TMNT Gen3 one today. Took 6 weeks for delivery and it is perfect. I was concerned when I saw no holes for screws of dowels but it uses the top to snag onto and you just use 2 screws in original holes and It plugged right into my Dell 20" power connector that I think was originally for Dell speaker attachment., You have to transfer speakers from old marquee if you are using them. If you are using original PCB it comes with adapter to plug into the original PCB for power.

Great review on both. The only thing you missed really talking about is the top/bottom framing difference between the two. That and the led lighting still puts me willing to wait out Scott's 1 month wait time personally.

I got my Turtles In Time Marquee coming and just ordered a Light up Marquee kit From Arcade1upModup $60 isn't a bad price at all so hopefully I'll them in time for my days off next week

Modup looks good in my cabinet. One of the side screws wouldn't screw in spinning freely so I put in one of my own. Light bleed is present on each side and a little through the bottom of the bracket which I will need to figure out. LED strip is always on and cheap but looks fine. I'll be replacing it with a USB strip that'll turn on with the pc. Responsive and fast shipping/service for me. Gave me replacement plexi when my first wouldn't fit the stock screws. Pleased with the purchase, price should be $50 due to lack of toggle and cheap strip, but you pay for 2 day shipping. Better than waiting a month.

My marquee from Modup installed well. It sits flush on both sides they just simply needed to go all the way left and right with the artwork on the marquee. On mine there is a little gap on each side where the artwork stops letting light shine through the clear acrylic. The stock wood piece does stop a lot of the light bleed through the bottom but it does leave a thin strip of light through. (They advertise it as "NO" light bleed with their design...Not true smh). The led sticky strip isn't so bad imo...it's pretty bright and can be installed many ways to your liking. I Hate that turning on the cab doesn't turn the marquee on at the same time. Also the black plastic bar strips on the top and bottom are too thick and they cover up some of the artwork on the Centipede cab marquee. Not sure if it's like this with others. Like you said these should be no more than 50$ bucks tops...even with the faster shipping over the competition imo.

@@TboneTenEighties Game factory and arcademodup both have similar problems with light bleed and power. It is the nature of aftermarket marquees. The only marquee that turns on with the cabinet is new generation arcade1up machines that plug into the pcb box or a usb powered that plugs into a pi or pc. Arcade1up has stated they are going to start selling lit marquees and if they stay in line with their current pricing it will be far less than aftermarket. Example: Glen's updated spinner, awesome as it may be, is $50. Arcade1up's free spinning upgraded model is $16.99.

Think both of those for the price are good but there's a marquee kit by Oasis Creations eBay handle: bentonoasis that is premium quality. The artwork it comes with is fine but the marquee box itself is what won me over though it is rather costly however. Great video as always.

@@BSAElectronics702 Thats the thing, its a premium piece so its not going to be as plug and play because it looks, feels and is made like a 100% true arcade marquee which the original cabs were not made for. Different strokes different folks but figured id throw the recommendation out there since hes a connisuer of sorts and may want to fit a quality piece. Worth the coin if youve got it, i definitely dont regret it.

older versions of the light up marquee for the gen 1 cabinets have a separate toggle switch to turn the marquee power on and off and do not power off or on with the main arcade power switch. The newer cabinets that have a 5V output on the PCB can hook up to the 3rd gen light up marquees from arcadegamefactory and power on and off with the cabinet.

Got the Final Fight and MK $40 marquees and they were fairly easy to install. Then I just got the TMNT marquee from Arcade Game Factory and it didnt have the same cables. Seems to be missing the on/off switch wires and it has this cable adaptor that came in the little bag of screws. Is this TMNT different from the other ones I got as far as the installation goes?

That would be a question for the vendor and not something I could answer for you. The products in this old video are different from what the third part companies are selling these days.

(Updated: The holes in the plexi were too large. They sent me two new ones free of charge.) When I go to put the bottom piece on, the machine screws won't grab into the plexi. I think the A1UP original screws are too short as the bottom piece holes taper and don't allow the screw head to go beyond a certain point. As a result it doesn't reach to the bottom of these predrilled holes and won't grab. I must have an earlier generation of machines or something because you literally, lined the bottom piece up, screwed it in, and done. Not I.

I think Arcade 1 up could be testing the water with golden tee and star wars regarding their own light marque. I would like to see them do a refresh of wave 1 in the future with some improvements but I doubt they will since some of the titles from wave 1 will be re-package in cocktail, bar top and wall cade. I think wallcade might be a flop for a few reasons. it's restricted to 1 player and restricted to 2 games. also potential to not last very long. those alternative light up marque look pretty solid.

Tell you what i did, i got some reflective tape, and taped it under my H board, and then got a 16" led cabinet light (FAR BETTER than the light strip i got from arcademodup.com) and now my marquee is so bright, and even it looks almost like a neon sign!

I purchased the Arcademodup marquee (just installed it) and I thought with the splitter when turning on/off the power you get both power on/off for the cab and the marquee at the same time. Sucks that you have to unplug the cab to turn the marquee off SMFH! I don't like the side light bleed either. (gonna have to tape mine up). The marquee sits flush on both sides but the artwork doesn't seem to go all the way left and right..there is a tiny gap where the art stops and you get light bleed through the clear acrylic. They could have done better IMHO. Mine came with a broken plastic black border out of box and the other one was not centered. They had over a week and a half to get the replacements sent to me before x-mas but they didn't come until today. That sucked! I hope Arcade1Up release their light up marquees real soon. Personally I wont be purchasing any more marquees from Arcademodup.

I just received my Light up Marquee from Arcade Mod up. I gotta be honest...I hate it! The LED Paper strip is the biggest complaint. It comes in a pack all jumbled up and you literally need to peel paper off the back and position it on the back of the marquee with the light facing AWAY from the marquee. It made my Pac Man cab look like crap! you can see the strip threw the Marquee because the background is primarily white so a shadow of the led strip is visible! #2 Yes the straight and NOT slanted portion where you connect the original top panel is an absolute PAIN in the Arse to get in! and it leaves a significant space in between because its NOT flush. In addition the printing quality on the marquee is lackluster! It looks as if its 300dpi and printed at Staples! I literally took it off put the original back on and put this crap back in the box. Waisted $60 if you ask me! Good review but misleading.I knew nothing about this company until I saw your review. This wasn't a good buy.

@@cooltoy sure did. No reply thus far and my light already blew out. I took it out the box and figured since I paid 60 id use it. Welp....so far. No Go. Guess my 5 other cabs will have to wait for light up marquees from another company or Arcade1up

Purchased this 2 weeks ago from Arcademodup...and Already the Light is dead! I figured this may happen given the cheap paper thin light strip and NO on & Off switch keeping this thing on 24hrs. I emailed the company 4 days ago and no reply! Wow so disappointed you endorsed this item. Think I'll stick to the parts from the Original makers in the future

All the stuff I ordered from ArcadeModUp was overpriced and just plain junk! I could not believe the poor quality. The control deck was junk and the Galaga graphics were a joke! Move on to another vendor. TRUST ME!
