Coming from a guy with a claw machine in his home arcade - we host a lot of events with family and kids and I need to monitor my claw machine now. Giving tokens doesn't work because each kid wants to win a prize if the other kid won. Free play doesn't work because then every kid walks away with 10 prizes. And the kids are RUTHLESS on it but it's metal and glass, it can take the punches. However, it is amazing for our adult parties like Christmas parties or themed parties - friends get a kick out of themed prizes they can play for free. I've even put a few lottery scratch-off's in it.

Given that there is no licensing involved on this claw machine, they definitely should have used better components in the build if they wanted it to be a successful product

The Vevor claw machine is a small commercial machine, much better build quality, under $400. metal construction, lock keys, accepts coins or tokens, LOTS of programming options. Works great with mini liquor bottles, just the right amount of challenge.

I really can't believe they're attempting something like this. They failed pretty bad with the vpins (although I really enjoyed them and thought they were great, they just weren't prepared for all the problems they were going to have to deal with with them) and I think they're going to experience the same type of thing with this. Because they're eventually going to start breaking do to cheap parts and they're not going to have replacement parts. I think for what they're asking for these things there absolutely should be some sort of warranty you could purchase. Way too many moving mechanical parts. This seems like a disaster waiting to happen for them.

We bought this machine on a black friday deal for 179.00 The control panel in video is the person that assembled it fault. My machine is solid. The claw is actually has three settings and is very strong. It did take me a few to get the claw return path dialed in. You do not have to use the orbs either but be sensible on what you put in it.

Yea, the low weight is not good. You also have to consider that some items may get wedged in and require more power to lift. The loose control panel is a bit over blown. Just get a screwdriver and tighten it.

I think the idea with the bigger prizes is the plastic balls have a paper print out of the bigger prize. You bring that to the attendant and then they unlock the machine and get the big box or heavy item out of the machine. At least that’s how they do it at family entertainment centers and Dave & Buster type places.

Regular claw machines also have a weight restriction sadly! Unless you are getting a really expensive motor to pick up the prizes. But yeah another machine to mod probably for those wanting more weight and also changing the looks. So in the end it possibly can be cheaper than buying one of the newer commercial machines. It is unfortunate and hoping the next thing Arcade1up with do better.

I like the idea of it because it would complete the look and feel of a real arcade for nostalgia's sake in your home. Especially if you have the room and spare money to spend on it. Being able to showcase your stuffed animals, pops, etc. would be really cool and add to the aesthetic but I'd never use it. It would just be used as a showpiece. I don't have the room nor the spare 500 dollars to spend on a showcase item so its a hard pass for me.

as long as it's under or around 7oz you should be fine. Wether or not this claw can actually pick up something that isn't in the included capsules is another curious question. As their marketing video strategically only ever shows items inside the capsules being picked up, which typically isn't a good sign.

Ice cold beer has more complicated internal mechanisms than this claw machine does, since it doesn’t look like they didn’t the mech very well on this claw unit, I doubt they could pull of that type of thing.

The only Arcade 1Up product I've ever purchased was a PacMan HDMI mini console that comes with PacMan, Dig Dug, Galaga, and a few other Bandai classica built in. The main reason I bought it though is because it has an SD card slot where you can load some 8 & 16 bit roms. It's nothing special, but pretty neat and wasn't expensive at all. Sad to see that even their more expensive luxury items are cheaply made.

I understand they want to be affordable, but that makes sense for Pac-Man arcade. Listen, If you are thinking you are gonna beat this thing up and try to pick up heavy shit then yeah your expectations are going to be shattered. $500 is a bit steep for a novelty item like this, but I pre-ordered one for my 6 year old because she loves claw games and hates she can't win something every time. So this will solve that and I can put the stuffed animals she already owns in there and let her have at it. I think $399 may be a bit more reasonable, but if you look at Arcade 1up's history of prices, they have only gone through the roof for no other reason than people keep buying them and trying to "collect" them. This being the same price but with Arcade 1Ups infamous build quality and after sale customer service is giving me bad vibes. Still a cool idea, though. Most claw machines for homes are either tiny desktop ones or full sized ones. I defintiely think there's a gap in the market for a smaller scale claw machine. But this just isnt doing it for me.
