Its actually kind of great, The original cabs were build pretty much to keep pricing and make them affordable and to get them out there for people to enjoy. Newer Cabs seem different, Bringing in Code Mystics to handle the emulation, the plexi printing with LED light, Stool, Better quality buttons and sticks, light up marquees, better tuned LCD panel. I mean 1Up is definitely refining the product a great deal. That is great there are indications the company is growing.

This confirms that I should have never purchased a cabinet straight from Arcade1up. Lesson learned! Going forward if it's not in stock local I will just be out of luck.

I dig that Arcade1Up is evolving and upgrading their cabinets to bring the quality way up! I’ve seen arcade business owners put these things down because they aren’t “the real deal” but Arcade1Up is giving them the middle finger and bringing it!

NBA Jam is fixed pretty much but I still like to play it anyway. I decided to test the CPU assistance feature and did my best not to score for most of the game. My opponent was up 28 - 4 with about a minute left in the third quarter. You can make shots even with a double digit lead though your percentage gets really low. I came back pretty fast, though, making three pointers like layups when I finally started shooting the ball. I won by a point. Kind of fun shooting 90 percent from three for pretty much a full quarter.

Anyone else have QC issues? One of the boards in the riser didn't have peg holes, my deck light strip has a handful of lights that don't light up, then they do if you push on them but sometimes the color on those doesn't match the rest, and there is sawdust behind the glass on my screen.

I think that the Online capabilities from this cab will go on to different games in the future, for sure... But im really wondering still if this makes any cab a Server/Client or if the server is from Arcade1up and everyone's a client... im wondering this cos, no Company last forever and if in 5 years the company does not exist or doesnt want to do online anymore... bye bye to this HUGE selling point.

That was my thought when first announced. Too many online games have gone away, which is understandable, but still sucks. Buy it for the cab and consider online a bonus while it lasts.

The actual games are peer-to-peer. It's "democratic" netcode, so there's no "host" per se after the join process is complete. The only thing that makes one machine a "host" is that it's the machine that shares its game state when you join, and it's the machine that has the privilege of being able to kick other players. The connections do rely on a server hosted by Arcade1Up to say what other machines are available to join, but we do have a contingency plan if that server ceases to function.

My cab should arrive soon. I am placing it 4 feet away from my router for best ping time and disabling all my other internet devices when I play online. Get this though, I live out in the country and my speed is 12mbps down and 2mbps up with average ping between 6ms and 20ms. I feel like this will be a good test and I will definitely be posting about my experience on youtube in chats and under videos.

Not dodging at all, I just don't feel I have quite enough experience with it yet to form an opinion. I'm waiting for Justin and a few of my other friends to get one so I can test random games as well as games with favorites where you know what there internet connectivity is. In case anyone is interested, "computer assistance" in dipswitches is the rubber banding that artificially keeps scores closer. I always made sure to turn this off back in the day. Otherwise you'll suddenly find that you literally can't make any shots after you've built up a significant lead. Even your dunks will brick.

The game has built in rubber banding to keep the game close. I just watched a video from the developer. It was basically to keep you putting quarters in to keep playing.

Turn off cpu assistance. Cpu assistance helps the game stay close by helping the losing team catch up by changing shot percentages slightly I do believe.

I don't know how you'll take this but you seem like an open-minded guy who's open to criticism so here I go. I started watching your videos because there aren't that many people making videos about arcade stuff and I watched despite finding a lot of your comedy routines kind of cringy, not really knowing where to cut the bit and generally just not funny. You'll probably never see the MK characters as those licenses split apart when Midway went out of business. Now, Warner Bros owns the MK license and the NBA Jam license is owned by EA. UNLESS.... the rumor is true and WB is looking to sell their game studios and EA is interested.

Arcade 1up needs to stop with the ridiculous 4 player decks! These machines are marketed for adults, no adult is going to have 4 people playing this game outside of 1 in a million who films it for youtube or snaps a pic of their kids trying it once. They look hideous with the wide decks and it's just wasted space I don't want in my house. I was interested in NBA Jam but I'll never buy a 4 player frakencabinet.

That's because there are some issues with it and Ralph has a relationship with 1up.

That's because it's only a P2P Wi-Fi connection so somebody has crappy Wi-Fi they're going to be three to five seconds behind somebody that has really good Wi-Fi which is going to totally blow the experience out of the water

@@Pitbull0669 there's no way they'll ever be 3-5 seconds behind. The game won't allow people to get more than about half a second behind even on the worst connection. Any more and first you'll see stuttering, worse still and the netcode will decide the connection is unusable and drop it.
