I can remember being back there in the crowd and seeing this huge box on top of the stage as they started this song. We were all trying to figure out what it would be. And as we are caught up in the song and singing along and the balls began to fall it was truly an incredible feeling. And when they started to light up we all just lost our minds. Probably my favorite moment of any Coachella in 13 years of attending. Thank you so much Arcade Fire. It still gives me all the feels almost ten years later.

How do they not cry every time they play this? It still hits the same for me since the first time I heard it when I was 11
@sqweezzstr Жыл бұрын
I remember my parents sitting me in front of the TV when i was 12 and they put on "Where the Wild Things Are" and them telling me the reason they're making me watch this was because it had really, really resembled me. The soundtrack stuck to me like glue and I remember trying so hard not to cry when I had first heard this song in the movie. Lump in the throat and all, they sat and watched me watch the film. I later got into AF a year later when they had won an award on TV for The Suburbs and I didn't piece the two but I adored the album in grade 6. I rode around my bike in the summer with that shit on blast and just stuck to myself. I hadnt known my anti social days were coming, like any other kid turning into a teenager. I thank Arcade Fire for so many things, helping me get thru with moving out of my moms, being with me thru out my long walks in rain and snow / shine to school. Every album just works so perfectly for each season of the year. I stopped listening to their newer stuff after their 4th one. I can't move on from their older stuff. It's too powerful and brings me down to nearly the ground when i take the time to just sit and reminisce on my rollercoaster of a ride childhood.

As an old turd now (62) I remember watching a live version years ago and feeling for the first time that, we are going to be okay, the kids, these kids get it. Before that I had worried that we as kindred souls were irrevocably lost, no direction home as Dylan once sang. But nope, listening to these beautiful young spirits sing like birds, well, I remembered how important it is to not just have hope, but to find it in others. Love you guys, so very much. Peace.

There is so much beauty in humanity, but sometimes it’s very hard to see when it’s drowned out by the hate, fear, and greed. I try to stay hopeful but I’m having a really hard time with it right now.

Holy shit, my heart. I had been looking for this performance since 2011. I remember that was the best Summer of my life. I got on KZbin, and this was on the home page being advertised. I clicked on it & my life was forever changed. They are unlike anything else. They pour their heart, blood, and literal sweat to their music. I could have my body tattooed with only their lyrics. I want to cry. I love them so much.

I am hard pressed to think of any song from any band I have seen live that has made me feel more euphoric. Definitely the absolute pinnacle of every Arcade Fire show I have been to and the closest thing to a religious experience I have ever felt.

The main perks of Arcade Fire's gigs during 2007 and 2011 were seeing both Marika and Sarah ecstatically hammering their violins...especially during Wake Up and Rebellion.

People who have never played on stage in front of people will never realize that the band on stage is in the audience also. Sure, if they stop the music stops but once it gets going the song is a separate thing and you are just along for the ride, listening and watching just like the people who are not on stage. 2:30 does she look like she is looking down from the almighty stage, no, she's part of everyone experiencing what is going on, and it takes the crowd as much as the band.
