In this tutorial I am going to show you a new way you can use Love Philter to Sidechain. It sort of emulates the kickstarter plugin or the lfo tool. Its really cool way and you can get these free presets along with it.

This technique is actually already discovered by Asher Postman.. He used it in one of the stock demo songs probably named as 'Future Bass'.. But he didn't quite explain it well in the note he gave in the project so even I wasn't able to understand this trick.. But this video made it very clear how to use it.. Thanks a lot, bud!! 😁😁

Yeah, that’s true. He also explained an other way in love philter. First you open up ‘fruity envelope controller’ and make a curve you like. Open up fruity love philter and go to ‘volume and panning’. Right click on the ‘y’ button choose ‘route to controller’ and choose fruity envelope. (Change the mapping formula to inverted). Then you route your instruments to the channel where your love philter is on and voilà. You can still mess around with the shape so you get the curve you want. (in fruity envelope) Then you can create a midi pattern called ‘sidechain’ where you right click on the envelope controller and select ‘fill each 4 steps’ now you’re done 😂 😅

How do you make it only apply when the kick hits? Otherwise it'll just keep going even if there aren't any drums.

Adjust the envelope to where it’s two beats instead of one so if you’re doing something in halftime then it’ll hit right OR automate the amount in the mixer that the filter is affecting your sound to zero when no drums are present

Apply Fruity limiter on your main leads, then route your kick number to your leads, then inside fruity limiter select comp and change the sidechain to the correct channel and play with the tires, knee button to get the effect. this makes it so everytime there is a kick the lead will have a side chain.

The Envelope controller is also awesome. Plus it has 8 articulators which can sidechain 8 channels independently. It is a midi trigger ( and midi compensated)

Honestly, I’d recommend Dodge Pro. It would just make your life slightly easier and is permanently on sale in a bundle on plug-in boutique for nine dollars. It’s also a pretty cool and unique and creative effect of its own, far more than just a ducker, it’s multi band, and can lend to some cool glitchy sounds with its randomization feature, on top of some other unconventional things.

Uhm asher's method was meant for Future bass wobbling. The actual sidechaining is done in Fruity Limiter

In gross beat you have to draw out the same pattern 4 times which is tedious.. here you do it once and have it ready :) Its easy to customize too.
