Oh that's how you do that. I've been using parametric EQ 2 with a peak controller to sidechain specific frequencies but using TDR Nova will be so much easier.
@inthemix3 жыл бұрын
Whenever there are more than a few steps involved, there is usually an easier way! I’m often guilty of this myself and can over complicate my own productions if I’m not careful.

Just so you know, the sidechain "trigger" on some Waves plugins only appear once you set up the sidechain input from the Fruity wrapper, if I remember correctly Just a tip for any Waves users Anyway, even though I know this already, thanks! I really appreciate how you just jump straight into business without shouting and doing all those jump cuts like how some KZbinrs like to do
@inthemix3 жыл бұрын

@ethai13 жыл бұрын
@@somedude4487 OTT will mess with phases just like any multiband compressor does. Any device that splits the signal into "bands" (multiband compressors, eq's) will mess with your signal's phase to some degree. That's just how these things work, unless you use a linear phase plugin.
@ethai13 жыл бұрын
@@BodyOfPlayMusic I know which video you're talking about, and while he is right about the phase thing, don't take it as 100% absolute truth. -He constantly threw in several terms without any connection to the situation (Maybe to sound intelligent? or he really just doesn't know? I guess you have to ask him about that). -He used a pure square wave if i remember correctly to demonstrate his point. In reality, however, most people will probably use it on much more complex sounds and channels which makes this demonstration useless. -That's just me but he has this obnoxious attitude that many of the so called KZbin "Producers" have, that say you either "have to use this plugin to sound good" or "don't use this plugin it sucks" and never bother to actually dive into the plugin and learn how it works (Read the freakin' manual) I really don't like that attitude. Btw that's one of the reasons I like Michael, he doesn't have that.

Your tutorials are top tier. It's absolutely incredible how you share these techniques. Side chaining is powerful for creating room in the mix. What would you side ⛓ the snare with usually? What instruments are most commonly side chained and to what?

The frequency specific compression technique is actually something MANY people use PAID plug-ins for such as iZotope Neutron, which can get fairly expensive. The fact you showed how to do this, with a FREE plug-in, is a huge blessing and I am incredibly appreciative of your expertise/wisdom. THANK YOU!

Hey, I'm going just apologize in advance for making statements about you as if I really knew you and I'll add that "BASED on Your Videos you strike me as being such a grateful person at least on a subconscious level because you are I think the person who vibes no evil what so ever. I want to say your the kindest most patient helpful humble person I've encountered I've all over the world and I got stories and you are as nice as Mr. Rogers or Rick Steve's or Opee or Jed Clampit but not even a hint of awkwardness. In fact, you're also as smooth as 25 year old Scotch Whisky. I don't know about your personal life so I won't go there but I feel so proud of you and we're not related..I would think whoever your adults were growing up must feel so proud of you. BTW almost 2 years of watching your videos and all my progress came all at once in a light bulb moment I guess I was soaking up the info but seeing no signs of it until maybe I reached some tipping point because lately when I load the channel rack and I'm thinking yeah this needs that to get that do this here change that there do it this way all in few minutes or seconds depending and then I take a quick listen and see if it begins to hypnotize me and lately it's been good.
