Not a combo piece? That’s the kind of degenerate denial that immediately precedes statements like, “It’s just a casual battle cruiser deck,” which is always said right before that liar combos off on turn 2. Shorakai is the kind of commander that proves the concept that if your engine spits out enough value then it doesn’t matter if it isn’t infinite. At a certain point you’ve accrued (and crewed) enough advantage where infinite isn’t relevant and you can just run past what anyone can respond to or deal with.

Yea that about sums it up. Arcades was my first commander and once in a while I play it while letting it give a nice *THUD* as I drop it onto the table. All it needs are “come at me bro sleeves”. Side note my favorite past time in that deck is throwing in the ‘kindred X’ cards, so that when I have my Great Wall of china’s worth of defenders, I pull double from my deck, and draw the other half.

I have an Assault Formation deck, and let me tell you, anything that lets Defenders attack is going to be one of the most aggro decks you'll ever see. Being able to cast Colossus of Akros on turn 3 and monstrous it on turn 4 is bonkers. In addition, for another "I promise, it's just casual, nothing crazy" commander, I would love to see you have a go at Narset, Enlightened Master.

@@18Zeke Sorry, I misremembered and just recalculated; it's T4. It's a pretty specific opening hand, but I've had it more than once. For reference, this deck was not for any kind of constructed format, just kitchen table Magic. T1 - Any 1-mana Defender (Naya, so Cinder Wall or Dragon's Eye Sentry EDIT: In my deck specifically. There are several other options out there) T2 - Overgrown Battlement T3 - Axebane Guardian, use Battlement for another Guardian. T4 - Any 1-mana defender would give you enough to play AND monstrous Colossus. Otherwise, you have 16 mana, so you could play two of them. Hell, you could play Emrakul. EDIT: You can actually monstrous Colossus without the 1-mana defender, just use 1 tapper to pay for it, then the other 2 will give you 5 mana each once Colossus is out. You could theoretically play Colossus on T3 if you had a couple of Tinder Walls or Shield Spheres, but for one, I don't have any, and two, that's REALLY getting into Magical Christmas Land

Definitely a very hard to deal with deck crammed full of one sided board wipes that care about total power, funny enough it can be countered pretty well by the call for backup precon because brightpalm's ability makes a creature twice as strong, and unblockable by low power creatures such as wallz

I have an Arcades wall deck I don't play often but it's always fun when I do. Combined with defensive spells like Aurafication and people tend to try and avoid you. For a really fun time, Arcades + Wall of Kelp ensures your hand will never go empty.

Yes all 9 of the "wraths" I have in my arcades deck. It's so fun dropping one and my board of 10+ dudes is unaffected cus I have no power. Such a shame XD throw is a sidar kondo for a backup umezawa and a meek stone with blind obedience in play to keep the enemy big things away with a few counterspells and targeted removals for thier synergy pieces. Then throw in a few spells like bar the door for a cheap +0/+4 or 5 to my board and watch as enemy life totals tank from full to 0 real quick. Then throw in a some vigilance enablers so you can swing and keep up blockers. Have fun ppl!
