Grab The Reins is a fantastic card for that exact purpose: a 4 mana red instant that lets you choose between either stealing someone's creature for a turn, or flinging a creature of your choice. Or... you can entwine it for an extra 3 mana to do both

@@parkerdixon-word6295youd want to run high power low cost cards that have some kind of negative effect on upkeep (which they will never see) and also aristocrats style cards (red black is in there, after all) you can also run recursive creatures that require creature death to recur (theres like 2-3 of them that are all 1 cost 1/2 or 2/1 that have abilities that are like: “B: return this creature from the graveyard to its owners hand, activate only if a non-[this guys creature type] creature died this turn” You can just sac them for 3 treasures and then use open mana (or treasure mana that you just got) to recur them.

@@briankirz231 as someone who dabbles in dinosaurs occasionally, id reccomend you drop a few power payoffs for ramp, as you need to funnel big creatures onto the field, and they likely arent to be on there for long if you are flinging them.

@@jemm113 i'll be honest, I just Google image searched "+1/+1 counter" and green blue mtg. That said my biggest power houses are sage of hours, triskelion, and champion of lamholdt. Any creatues that are power 2 or less and buff or use +1/+1 counters are worth playing: I have a bunch of creatures that give creatures with counters trample, and you want mana and card draw and there are a bunch of creatures, which use counters, that help with that. Oh and swiftfoot boots, lightning greaves, and the shroud cloak; big E needs to stay on the field. 4 or 5 counters are basically dedicated to keeping him alive too. I run a pretty chill strategy, i'm mostly trying to get Ezuri down, keep him alive, and only really play enough stuff to keep from discarding. He gets strong easy, as long as he's on the board to get experience; and he goes from "aw, that's cute: a +1/+1 counter at the beginning of combat" to "your champion of lamholdt has how much power?" pretty much from one turn to the next. (My deck building is always about redundancy. I build commander the same way I do 60 card decks: 4 of a kind. Don't just get 1 creature that grants trample, get 4 or 5 versions of the same creature)

I love Ziatora! The first commander deck I ever made after learning the game and not from a precon. My favorite thing to do after sac’ing a creature is flashing in Radiant Performer to copy the triggered ability to hit every creature and player and make a ton of treasures. Speaking of treasure, I introduced the idea of "treasure cruise," to my playgroup and a buddy of mine went out of his way to proxy a whole deck. Some takeaways: 1: its a fun way to insert some variety into games! Worth it if you have the means to make a treaure cruise deck. 2: the fact that my buddy keeps hitting sword of feast and famine and I land curse of opulence while sitting next to creature token boi does not do me any favors. 3: my other buddy pulled a trading post while running nekuzar and the value it ended up providing him was like walking in on your parents bumping uglies cause it was both disgusting and unexpected. 4:The commander roasts have inspired some new decks within the group and they have been spicy. Keep em coming!
