i think one of the main reasons they take so much longer w characters now is because they have so much more going on with their game. when they released characters once per month they weren’t working on things like higher quality animation, release trailers, and higher quality skins. bmg is now also working on a bunch of other stuff that’s likely slowing them down like the sorely needed balance patches

But that's why they hire more people-- It is a successful game, so they both have the money and manpower. Never mind that the game is owned by Ubisoft now. but also, it's hard to defend the statement that they're "working on a bunch of other stuff" when bugs that have been around for years are still prevalent. For example, the glitch where you cannot select colors properly if you set the room to a friendly 2v2 match from a custom lobby. Or the semi-old issue where the sound effects from emotes in the battle pass last even after you hover off of them (for example, emote "energy of the universe", battlepass tier 61. Hover over it for a moment and then hover over something else. The background noise continues.) Or the newly broken replays system as was highlighted in this lord white wolf video. or even account linking. They've been "working on it" for AT THE BARE MINIMUM the last 4 years. I found a reddit thread from "tyveris" of BMG from a 2018 "AMA". You can't even defend it at this point. Could have told someone to do it, let them graduate from a 4 year institution, and then had them implement it by now. I'm serious. even with, what was it, the kung-fu panda crossover, where they put white text over a bright yellow background? I mean, that really isn't an oversight that a group with more than one person should miss. I do not want to be hostile, and I have wasted my life playing this game, but it is... upsetting to say the least. What I have listed is not an exhaustive list by any means. There are hundreds of other small issues that need fixed. The "issue" that they chose to fix instead was the post-game chat. even with the tech-test-- they really don't seem to work on it much. They release updates to the tech test as often as they release updates to the normal version of the game, making me think that the only thing they add to it is what they normally add to the game, aka no additional effort. Maybe the tech test just works perfectly, but then why would they waste it as only the "tech-test"? now, I'll be honest. I am perfectly fine with the character release schedule. One every 3+ months is more than enough. It gives me time to learn and enjoy each legend. What I do not like, however, is someone defending them citing "they're working on stuff" because they really do not seem to be working on much of anything. Unless you're referring to the walking dead crossover, because then I would have preferred they work less hard, so that it never existed.

At the very end they mention a tournament, but that does not have anything to do with the game itself. There is a Friday dev stream from 15 days ago, where they mention the new legend tease on accident at the beginning of the stream, play the game for 40 minutes, and then talk about posters. 19 days ago, a Monday esports dev stream, where they talk about emotes and colors and the such relating to the esports, the esports schedule, and then discuss fights. Unless you are referring to a different recent dev stream, I do not know what you are referring to. It honestly isn't even that there is a lack of communication, there is a lack of evidence even then. Please link the dev stream you're referring to, I will watch it in full. Chances are, like all of the other "dev streams" they waste the entire stream playing the game, and talking about nothing of any importance. I should not have to watch an entire hour long podcast to hear one piece of news about game development in a stream centered around development.

@@TheAcidMuskitears it is just as you say, bmg really needs to communicate more to their fanbase and actually put their effort into things in the game that actually matter. but i’m pretty optimistic about bmg, and while i can’t say for sure how 2022 will end up for brawl, i can say that 2023 is when we’ll see a lot of the changes coming up. first though, they need to dig themselves out of the terrible meta players are forced to play, balance the shit out of weapons, and start putting out some meaningful announcements for us to look foreword to. that’ll likely take them all year if they can pull it off, which is why i hope 2023 is gonna be a little better edit: sorry i don’t remember which dev stream it was, but yeah all the stuff they announced was coming was all very vague when it came to release dates and upcoming plans so yeah:(

(I think you said your bday was sometime near early-mid October in your Asuri video). You got a damn house of your own. (mentioned on Dusk). World War 3 almost happened. Twice. Ninja himself has a chance to be drafted into a fucking War. Same with Chief Keef. And you. A racial inequality protest surged. We got a new damn U.S. President. Greatsword, Gauntlets, Katars, and Sword have all risen to the top of the meta and then fallen. FUCKING NEXT GENERATION CONSOLES RELEASED. I wouldn’t be surprised if GTA 6 released.

I didn't even know there was a new legend coming. Haven't played since the battle pass released. So when I logged in yesterday I thought Sidra got a new skin. Then I saw Spear+Greatsword and played for 30min. She's a ton of fun, not a huge fan her stat spread but besides that shes quickly becoming one of my favorites.

im pretty sure with the spacing out of new legends is purely content wise and to have a longer lasting game. Too many champions too fast would overload newer players and for older players they wouldnt have the time to understand another character's kit. Also also if the game is dying a release of new characters bring back older players and gets more attention
