Thank you for these videos. I moved away from Ampthill about five years ago, grew up there. I used to spend my childhood days riding bikes around these villages, made friendships that have lasted me a lifetime, always find myself thinking about them in my spare moments. The Maulden village hall at around @10:45 in the video, if you had gone left instead of right to Ampthill, you would have seen a little cul-de-sac about 2 minutes down the road on your right and had a footpath that went into the fields. Loved that place- great for dog walking, for long Summer walks, getting into the woods to sit and contemplate our place in nature. They closed the Ampthill entrace to them when Covid started and I haven't been able to get back in them since. Anyway, thank you for helping me remember why I will always love Bedfordshire's quiet, hidden beauty, all the best.

My Wood ancestors lived in that area in the 1700s…Ampthill, Maulden, Ftlitwick, etc. Beautiful history and countryside, but also the melancholy of tragedy and loss.

Amazing Clophil, ruined Clophil church, Maulden, Nicholas story, beautiful Ampthil, Ampthil park and Catherine of Aragon, everything is elegant in this video. There is another village Flitwick is located in the west of Ampthil. Flitwick is my favourite word I'm planning a website in this name.

I live just up the road from these villages. I have been to Houghton House, but much of the video was an eye opener. I really must explore my local area a bit more. Thanks David. ATB MMMD

Coopers hill was a pine wood, which was chopped down to make pit props for the trenches in the first world war.
