They did a great job animating it. She's not good because she's the hardest hitter, she's good because she *works* you. You get in one hit, she'll get in 10, and that's even if your 1 hit lands. She can take a punch, too. Her movements, strikes, dodges, she looks like a professional fighter.

listening to them, and how they construct their phrases in English, I get the feeling that Bulgarian is constructed very similar to Spanish. I make the translation to Spanish as I go, in my head, and if I translate their English directly, it makes perfect sense in Spanish. they're obviously thinking in Bulgarian and speaking English.... so it's kind of amazing that it works after all the translation.

@@hawkins347 I'm still on the fence about that. Just because she had sex with him doesn't necessarily mean love or even like, or else honeypots wouldn't be a thing. Hell, a friend of mine admitted that she once traded sexual favors with a guy she barely liked in return for Jimmy John's takeout. She didn't love him. But she apparently REALLY liked JJs umwiches.

@@pjpleiss The thing is, look at how she interacts with other people. She never uses sex on anyone else. She doesn't have to, her words are enough. And even Jayce follows her advice, no strings attached, without this layer to their relationship. She doesn't need to seduce him to get her way, she does it because she genuinely likes him and his ideals appeal to the the very ideals she shows in this flashback. Notice that she slowly starts opening up to him, comforting him, supporting him even when he makes political moves that she didn't suggest, protecting him from his mother's influence, sharing things about her past with him and just being physically close to him even when he's dirty and sweaty at the forge. She's visibly upset whe he leaves in the middle of the night and softens up when she finds out he had a legitimate reason. That's not how someone playing a game acts, that's act of a woman who thinks she just got used. It's a common trope in media that persuasive female politician is just a manipulator and that sex is one of their weapons. And the writers have been really good at subverting these types of tropes in this show. So I don't think it's the case here.

@@JessYapping They both did. And I'd argue that investigating a series of terrorist attacks is not forgetting to help people - it's trying to protect the city, but in a different way. Viktor, meanwhile, conducts highly dangerous experiments to save himself first of all. His motivations aren't wholly unselfish. And it ends up killing a person. He admits it's his fault and that he's lost his way. Besides, in episode 4 they're both complaining that the council has been blocking their efforts to help the undercity by approving only the projects that benefited the topside, so there's a bigger culprit to be had.

Everyone has to really re watch this from mels point of view and he is manipulating jayce and she used magic the whole time from her dreams to of her mother to the sex scene and I know she’s gonn be pregnant next scene making it even harder for jayce to go against her in court and also if jayce died she gets everything if she has a child with him.. she will then go on to making both her homeland and her own city making her the strongest power on the table by the next season
