Just one note/correction. At the very end. Jinx wasn't "figuring it out". She did it. As in, she figured it out. It was the same hextech contraption that Jayce and Viktor were trying to run to control the abudant energy from the Gemstone without it exploding. She achieved the exact same thing. Which means at this point she can start making anything that uses hextech gemstones as fuel.

I often see people go "why didn't Cait shoot Sevika?" but like... Caitlyn has neither killed anyone before, nor does she have the desire to do so. She's not a killer. Shooting someone in the head isn't a very easy thing to do emotionally!

Right! She didn't miss. She intentionally placed every shot on Sevika's shoulder intentionally.

@@zissoulander Yup. She specifically shot the vial of shimmer to disable the arm. And that's a MUCH harder target than a head. Also, interesting thing I noticed: *SPOILERS BELOW* When Sevika redesigned her arm, she changed how the vials were implemented. She added the ability to have multiple plugged in at once, plus putting them under a protective metal plate. Both precautions against a repeat of that exact situation. Sevika is one of those characters that I grew an appreciation for over multiple viewings, and she's actually pretty high up on my list of favorite characters. Interested to see the direction she goes in season 2.

Not only that, but she believes in due process. She’s law enforcement, not executioner. She knows that’s not her place and, if anything, she believes Sevika should stand trial. She just also realizes at that distance she can’t make an arrest or otherwise benefit from keeping Sevika around, so she fires a warning shot into her mechanical arm to force her to leave.

​@@OfficialMediaKnights haha you really don't play the game a lot ;) no spoilers (because vi in game not exact the same than in arcane way) but in the game Vi and cait are police officer and try to arrest jinx. The facts is, Vi and jinx are the first champion of the game to got a "story" other than "i'm the vilain king" or "i'm the loyal knight" and riot starting make story with champions since them. So when they want to make the show, they obviously took vi and jinx to start the story. Other facts is Vi and jinx are inspired by Batman and joker as well, like a lot of champion in the game is like a fusion of 2 pop culture things. now theory of me: Vander is die but he maybee can born as Warwick (the werewolf in the game) because warwick is from zaun, he use the green chemical (its like another chemical than the pink one but in the same way, like an upgrade maybee. When Vander transform and kill the young chemical guy it seems like we can eard wolf howl ?! And finnally in game their is speech beetween champions and one speech beetween Vi and Warwick (the warwick taunt) litterally say " who taught you how to punch" So its a theory but it seems like its close to the way the show will go PS: Nice video, like the reaction and the way you explain things, i like to got feedback of quality, hope you will talk longer to develop what you think of the episodes because it is very interesting PPS: I'm so proud to be French when i see the animation in this show, merci Fortiche

Dude... jinx is more than "quite smart". She figured out how to make bombs of all types, maintains her guns, all her knick knacks. She figured out how to harness the gemstones' powers. SHE'S NEVER BEEN TO SCHOOL. SHE DOESN'T HAVE ANY OF THE RESOURCES OR TOOLS VIKTOR AND JAYCE HAVE. Yet she figured out all this on some stolen notes. She's a genius, which makes you wonder. If she hadn't had all this trauma, if she had the education and safety and support her whole life, damn how much better she could be? She could be inventing amazing things.

No, Silco doesn't know that Vi is in jail. If you remember, at the end of episode 3 Marcus tells Vi that Silco would kill her if he sees her, so he took her to that prison.

Yeah and on top of that, it's mentioned in the Council Archives that Marcus used his connections (i. e bribed the warden who beats Vi constantly) to prevent any information about Vi's existence from escaping the prison walls. He had her thrown in there as an anonymous inmate. Hence why Cait mentioned she didn't see any records of her.

Right. Marcus still needed a suspect for the apartment explosion. Handing VI in got him his promotion to Sheriff. He couldn't tell Silco because he went behind his back to get his promotion instead of just killing VI as Silco wanted. Notice the way Silco says "Sheriff" when talking to him in this episode. Like he's questioning how he was promoted but doesn't realise what Marcus has done. So much in this series is in plain sight but you really have to pay attention to figure it out.

The council needed a suspect for the bombing for the public, so that people calm down because they cought the person responsible, a "poster boy" for the crime (that's why they said they just need someone to blame, not the actual person responsible) It was said that Marcus bribed the guard to prevent information getting out about Vi being there, she's not in the prison officially. Which goes against why they needed to imprison someone for the crime the first place. Either she's in for the bombing in which case Silco would definitely know about her being there, or she's there unofficially but then she can't be a public face for the bombing to blame. The way I interpreted the sheriff line "we achived so much together... sheriff" is him emphasizing that he helped him becoming sheriff.

Another great thing with the fight scenes in Arcane: They get exhausted, out of breath, and have to take breaks. It adds so much realism to the fight, and you don't see that very often in any kind of action movie/series. Anyone who's tried any kind of martial arts (like boxing or wrestling) knows how many minutes, or even seconds, you actually last before you're exhausted...

The guards at Stillwater weren’t beating Vi all the time because of Silco - as far as he knows, she died the same day as Vander, and Marcus shoved her in Stillwater Hold to keep her out of Silco’s sight. The guards have their ‘chats’ because Vi has a habit of stealing weapons other people try to attack her with. She _usually_ beats the shit out of them, thus necessitating her separation from the other inmates for their protection. The chats are just the guards’ way of trying to break her, because, who the hell is she ever going to complain to? She has no friends, no family visits, and from the looks of the Piltover legal system, probably no lawyer or advocate to stand up for her. Imagine being a fourteen year old girl who just lost your entire _second_ family, being put in this place for years? On another note, I’m really enjoying your reactions; many of them mirror my own on first viewing of this show. Thank you. 👍 Also, 19:55, I have that as a screensaver 😁

Marcus is conflicted and has poor judgement, I believe he thought he was doing the right thing by "saving" Vi's life by throwing her in jail and telling Silco she's dead. Ensuring the council that the people responsible for the recent chaos topside as being taken care of also probably fastracked his way to Sherrif.

A little fact about Caitlyn and Jinx. Caitlyns voice actress is Katie Leung. She played Cho Chang in Harry Potter and the goblet of fire back then. weeks before Arcane launched, Caitlyn in the game got a make over and they gave her asian features which is fitting since her VA is also Asian :D Jinx' VA Ella Purrnell went deep into the theory sections of the league forums to gather informations about Jinx and how the community was thinking about her backstory and everything and I must say, she did a fuckin great job as Jinx! Jinx always stood out for me in the whole League lore...She had basically no backstory, everything was extremely vague and aside from a few stories which Riot released, nobody knew what her deal was, which is a rare thing for League Champions....Except that she was an arsonist, loose cannon and in general...out of line to put it simply :D And that she was very and I mean...VERY focused on Vi, but it was never established why. Theories came up pretty fast that they are probably related. Riot fueled this with an "accident" on twitter. They made a post about siblings and posted some pictures of League characters who were SIblings....One of the pictures showed Jinx and Vi. The tweet was removed shortly after. I don't believe in coincidences :D The Violinist in this episode is Ray Cheng, a very talented Violinist who took part on the soundtrack btw^^

jinx had pressure to figure out the runes. She also had a recipe book for the runes, because jayce and victor already did all the research. It's like using the discoveries of a lab and cooking up a chemical after the exact conditions described in a paper. On the way she's going to see what they figured out, and what other properties can be discovered. It seems like she won't have access to all the advanced runes that topside has cooked up. Seems like topside runes are going to be able to do some high tech insanity.

The only way that Silco didn't know about Vi beeing still alive, is that Marcus, after chloroforming her that day, brought her to the prison and told Silco he finished her off. Remember at the beginning of this episode, Caitlyn asks Vi why she was in prison with no apparent crime history. I like how the show doesn't say such details outloud and leaves it to the viewers to figure that out.

It does certainly add a really interesting layer to Marcus, that he chose to not kill her, and essentially hide her from Silco!

Definitely! It does ache our hearts that he finds himself stuck in this situation, he clearly has good intentions, but it's led him down this path and it seems there's no way out...

Marcus admires Grayson, but he is too impetuous and impatient, which lead him to constant bad decisions. Grayson had an agreement with Vander to keep the peace, so he seeks an agreement with Silco. Except that Silco isn't Vander, and he isn't Grayson. In my opinion Marcus is unwillingly corrupt. He makes the first deal with Silco (ep. 2) not really for the money, but to move thinks. He sees the pressure of the Council which demands results but don't care the cost, and he sees Grayson and Vander not going fast enough; again: impetuous and impatient. Impetuous and impatient but weak of character. Silco is interested in having money involved in his deal with Marcus as that gives him control, and Marcus isn't strong enough to reject it: to make the deal in his terms rather than in Silco's terms.

During episode 5 where he collapses and he's in the hospital bed, Viktor asks Jayce, "how long do I have?" It cuts away to Sevika, who throws down two *VERY* specific cards. Death and Magician. This is the future of Viktor. I believe he will die in some way, the hexcore will save him (through symbiosis) and he will become some sort of hexmage.

Yeah, everything that Vi went through in jail wasn't Silco, it was just how shitty of a jail Stillwater was. There are a lot of interesting studies on what can happen with prison guards on a psychological level when they're allowed to unleash on prisoners, and my impression is that they have no oversight to stop them from just being as awful to the prisoners as possible. It's all pretty nuts. It's the whole sense that it isn't absolute power that corrupts absolutely, it's a small amount of power that corrupts the most, and their power is... pretty small, at the end of the day. @@adriankuban2904 Speaking of side characters like Mel, Spoiler Warning for Season 2: In "The Making of ‘What Could Have Been’ from Arcane" on wearemako's channel, if you skip to 17:30 in that video, he slips up and says causally, "her armoring shimmering" regarding the final shot in the last episode when the gold on Mel shines. I mean, many theorized that this was a sign of some sort of protection, but here we have actual confirmation from a show creator, specifically referring to it as her "armor."
