My parents are oldshool dnd players back to the 1st edition so I grew up listening to their jokes about different movies working by dnd logic. Every time the character does something they wouold go "ohhh they rolled natural 1" or "hey the character has high charisma". I love this kinds of retellings! Not to mention how Arcane much less gritty grimdark in that context. Somebody dies? NOPE They just have to made new characters. Happens to the everyone. The characters are lethally stupid? NO LONGER YOU NEED TO FEEL SECOND HAND EMBARASMENT. It's just players being players, we all saw that, its actually really funny.

some predictions that may or may not end up being true (arcane spoilers): mel's player REALLY wanted to play a spellcaster that wasn't another artificer so the dm allowed them to secretly be a sorcerer who doesn't know about their magic and doesn't use it unless the situation is dire. OR the player built their character all around charisma and later multiclassed into sorcerer when the dm stopped being so strict about magic (at which point victor's player also decided to multiclass into cleric to have more healing options). caitlyn's player either started out playing with the political intrigue group and realized their schedule aligned better with the less experienced group, had such an irregular schedule that they kept jumping between the groups, or played mylo or claggor and decided to make a new character that is connected to both groups. i wonder what happens to the two groups when the story gets to season 2. do they split up? victor, vi and jinx decide to just chill in a cult, jayce and ekko go on a dimension hopping adventure, caitlyn has a dictator arc... 😅 that would be pure chaos in dnd.
